Challenge Page | Prologue Pt. 2

Luna waited impatiently for her moment. Finally, her father’s car pulled out of the drive and she was free. Somehow, she still felt the need to be stealthy, even though the house was empty but for herself, and she snuck up the stairs tentatively. This was her father’s domain, and she had never been allowed up here. But – she had to know. Her mother’s memory was fading, but her recent teenage birthday made her want to get in touch with her roots. The thought had occurred that maybe there were some clues as to her mother’s roots or perhaps about her mysterious disappearance in her old room. The room that had remained locked since she had disappeared. But while snooping in her father’s desk downstairs, Luna had found a key hidden in a drawer. At the time, she hadn’t had the opportunity to check whether it would unlock that door, but she had pocketed it with the hopes that this day would come.

Another new story? Yep. Guess you are all just lucky!

This story is based on the Lunar Legacy rules that my friend Sovereign_Flower and I put together. I was inspired to start this with a Townie and incorporating a Sims 3 family because of some of the elaborate backstories they come up with for their stories. I had an idea, started researching it, and – amazingly – the more I read, the more I was sure that the story line I came up with was plausible for the games as well as for the sims. I will not tell you exactly who the included sims are in the backstory, as the story will explain in it’s own time.

–> I will warn, however, that the beginning of this story will be quite dark. <–

So, be aware that there may be some “trigger” moments in the early days of this story, and, above all, enjoy!

Generation Four: Orange

House Goal: 40,000 worth

Hello, Mother…

The morning dawned beautifully, belying the tossing and turning I had done the night before. As Grandma Kimber had suggested, I was planning to try to break the news to Mom today, on New Year’s Eve… and my nerves had kept me from sleeping peacefully, despite the comfort of the bed, and my blissfully unaware wife beside me. By morning, I had memorized non-existent patterns on the freshly painted ceiling.

Sighing, I got up, and woke Greta for her support. With her watching, I dialed the familiar number, and waited breathlessly for Mom to answer her phone.

“Hello?” I heard, and I had to swallow twice, hard, before I could get a word out.

“Hi, Mom. It’s me. I was thinking of coming over for New Year’s Eve, would that be okay?” I said, stumbling a bit over the words. Greta put a hand on my arm, letting me know wordlessly that she was there for me.

“Oh! Charlie! So good to hear from you! Of COURSE you can come over. I have someone for you to meet!” Mom replied, sounding surprised and pleased to hear from me.

“Okay. I’m going to bring someone for you to meet, too, if that’s okay?” I asked in return.

“Of course. I can’t wait to see you!” Mom replied, and the phone went dead. Typical Mom, always in a hurry. She was probably already tidying the house like a maniac for me and my guest. With a small smile, I kissed Greta’s supporting hand, and we both turned to get dressed.

Chapter 1.10 | Chapter 1.12

After the harsh criticism from her daughter, Caizey decided perhaps it was time to alter her parenting methods. Perhaps she needed to put some more time into it. So, after Kailyn went to school the next morning, she quickly put in an order with the furnishing catalog, and then made one more important call. Before long, there was a new hot tub on the way.. some swings, a treehouse kit, a new hot tub, as well as several items that were to go with the other phone call. The knock at the door was answered swiftly, and the adoption agent brought in the huge cat carrier, and let a tiny little soul out into the house.

Chapter Fourteen | Chapter Fifteen / TC 1.1

Uacro fell asleep that night as alone as he’d ever been. With Saelua gone, all the work was left to him – and it was exhausting. Having Saazul’s heart was the only thing that kept him from breaking down, and he prayed her love was as true as it seemed.

Drifting deeper into sleep, he was unaware, at first, of the pictures coming to him, but it didn’t take long for them to take on a life of their own…

As time has passed in my Island Spirits story, I’ve become very attached to the sims involved. So much so, I have been DREADING the next generation, and having so many wonderful sims taking a major backseat to the rest of the continuing story. Which has caused me to drag my feet in finishing the generation. However, in the background, I started coming up with ways to continue some of those background sims’ stories. Finally, I think I have settled on how I will do that, and I’m super excited about it.

So, with very little prelude… I introduce my new story. This will be my very first spin-off story of any of my challenges – in other words, usually, once a sim is out of one save, they have never appeared into another story or save. That’s all about to change.

NOTE: This was originally designed to be a blog story. However, as time has passed, the amount of time I have to devote to blogging has not increased. … And I really wanted to bring REAL storytelling to my Streaming on Twitch. So, I am doing just that. Timeline Children will be aired on my Twitch Channel, as well as my Youtube channel. This will be the first of its kind for me – a true storytelling adventure while live. In other words, I will be telling the story as I play it, instead of just commentating. At least, that’s the plan. At the time of this additional writing (10/24/25), I plan to film the previous backstory for this story and post it to Youtube… as soon as I can. Read: probably in the next month!

When You Need Advice…

The next day, I got up, got all dressed up, and then paced back and forth in our sad, empty, excuse for a foyer nervously. Finally, my phone rang, and I answered it quickly.

“Hello?”

“Hi, sweetie. I’m heading over to the restaurant now, meet you there?” a familiar voice asked.

“Alright. I’ll be right there.” I replied with a smile, and wiped off my damp palms on my dress, waved a quick goodbye to my wife, and began my walk to the restaurant.

Chapter Thirteen | Island Spirits page | Segue / TC Prologue

Utel had not been the only miserable tribe member recently, and yet another night on the hard ground in a tent had left Nork tossing and turning. He missed his bed. He missed his children. He missed .. yes, he had to admit.. he missed Utel. So, with his heart on his sleeve, he packed up his things yet again, and miserably trudged across the village to try to apologize to Utel.

He arrived mid-morning, and, predictably, found Utel out in the garden by herself. He cleared his throat as he passed the initial trees, noticing to his chagrin that someone had made raised beds for the rest of the plants.

“Utel?”

Chapter Twelve | Island Spirits Welcome page | Chapter Fourteen

Oblivious to all the rest of the fuss in the town, Utel was out in her garden, communing with her bees. She was proud that she had finally managed to get all of her plants in raised beds on her own, and was up early cooking for her large family and getting the gardening chores done.

In fact, she had managed to finally get her aspiration completed, as well, so the news that she would be able to learn more healing from Uacro was more than welcomed. It would give her something else to do to help contribute to the village’s well-being.

A Place for Winterfest

It only took a couple of days, and our new house.. actually looked like a house. …At least on the outside. And Julius had really outdone himself. It was easily the prettiest home in Sulani. Maybe I would start a new tradition of our family actually using an architect to design their home, instead of just placing boxes as they had enough money and hoping the house would look okay.

I am a 47 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and five young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I am also in the EA Creator Network and an Ubisoft Partner, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
