Chapter Fourteen | Chapter Fifteen / TC 1.1

Uacro fell asleep that night as alone as he’d ever been. With Saelua gone, all the work was left to him – and it was exhausting. Having Saazul’s heart was the only thing that kept him from breaking down, and he prayed her love was as true as it seemed.

Drifting deeper into sleep, he was unaware, at first, of the pictures coming to him, but it didn’t take long for them to take on a life of their own…

Uacro woke up with a start, sweating like he had been standing in front of the volcano in his vision. He had had visions before, sure, but none this clear, this real.

He rubbed his face with his hands, and his eyes still felt gritty, like the sand and dirt from the volcano was affecting his vision. Slowly, his breathing returned to normal, and the vision became clear in his head. Quickly, he sat up, grabbed his grass skirt and went to tell the Chief the news.

There was much to do, and very little time…

(A/N: Yes, this is the promised spin-off … or at least the beginning of it. I spent more than two weeks and countless hours trying to get this chapter of pictures as clear as I could make it. I also spent quite a lot of thought and time on getting the picture filters just right. I wanted to keep the bright colors of the jungle, but make sure you knew it was a vision, not reality. It was not easy, but I hope I managed it. Initially, I had plans to supplement the pictures with words, but the more I tried, the more sure I became that the vision itself should be silent. If you’re still confused, the next few joint chapters (chapters that will count for both stories) should clear up any of those lingering questions. Thanks for reading!)
