2023 – Elder Scrolls Solo Playthrough

Update: My Morrowind save crashed and burned, basically… and I took an extended break from the playthrough while I decide what, exactly, I want to do about it. I will either start in on Oblivion and skip Morrowind entirely, or I’ll give Morrowind another try. but, for now, this playthrough is ON HIATUS!

So, for this year, I started in on an Elder Scrolls Solo Game playthrough (As of January 2nd). I decided to skip Arena and Daggerfall, and dive right into Morrowind. My game IS modded – but mostly it’s modded for graphics and patches. If you want more information on the mod pack I’m using (MOISE) – you can find it on the Wabbajack website. I will be working on this playthrough until I feel I’ve finished the game, which will likely include most, if not all, of the side quests. Afterwards, I will be getting to Oblivion and Skyrim as well, but there may be a game in between for a change of pace.

After much deliberation, I have decided to attempt a play-through journal for this journey. Each time I stream Morrowind (Monday and Tuesday afternoons), I will then write up a short journal entry, which will be posted here. I’m doing this for several reasons:

  1. I wanted a way to easily look back on what’s been done, and be able to glance at the last entry to help me hop right back into what I had been doing the last time.
  2. I also wanted a place for viewers to be able to catch up with what’s been going on if they miss things, or have come late to the playthrough.
  3. Finally, I also feel it might be nice to have a record of what I did each day, just for me.

So.. without further blabbering on my part, I introduce you to my Elder Scrolls Journal. Posts will accumulate under the line. If you’re looking for the very first post, go to this page. I will be linking each post to the one before and after it, so you can continue reading easily. Enjoy!

The first thing we managed to find.. was a strip club. In Morrowind. I did not know this was a thing. *LOL* Apparently, the owner had not been paying her Mage Guild dues, so we got them from her and moved on.

Today was fairly productive, although there was a lot of running/walking from place to place. I started in Caldera, but quickly headed back to Balmora. I then traveled to Fort Moonmoth, and got lost looking for the guy I was supposed to find to join the Imperial Cult. Finally, I did find him (and another quest along the way) – and discovered I would have to go to Ebonheart to get jobs for the Cult. Which is unfortunate, because I have no intention of heading that way in the near future. Guess we’ll get there eventually.

We started out where we left off- trying to find the “witch” who stole my current follower’s clothes and axe. I did, finally, find her… and then elected to side with the mostly-naked guy who’d been following me faithfully trying to get his property back. He did most of the killing of her, though, because I could barely get a shot in edgewise. After killing and looting her, I gave him back his axe as he asked, and he went on his way.

Today’s session was a bit on the underwhelming side. I did get a couple quests done, but most of the day was struggling on a third. I did get the Fighter’s Guild quest that I planned on doing, and did some exploring of Caldera – which was where the second Fighter’s Guild quest sent me. Then, while looking for the place to do that quest, I ran across a mostly nekkid guy who wanted me to find the “witch” who stole his clothes. I wandered around… and couldn’t find her. Found two other quests, though, which I picked up.

Today’s session was a fun one. I even managed not to die even once. Not sure how, but hey.. I’ll take it. I did take a different tack on the mage quest than I did last week, I tried persuading the servant.. I tried bribing him.. hell, I even tried taunting him. But I couldn’t get any of it to work. Eventually I got frustrated, and went to attempt to pickpocket the owner of the Manor for his key. Which worked.. sort of. I mean, he felt me grab the key, and attacked, but I escaped without hurting him and ran my little Kahjiit ass ALL the way back to the Thieves Guild leader with Nerano’s key. I also completed the first quest for the Fighters Guild (killing some rats)… and then I got myself really occupied with doing some Mages Guild quests.

    Journal Intro | Jan 9

Okay, so just as an introduction to this journal, I’ll give my character’s information, and then I’ll dive into what we did on this, the first day of my 2023 Morrowind playthrough.

The character I settled on is a female Khajiit named Raktar-la. Raktar being a traditional female name, and the -la a suffix referring to a young, beautiful maiden. I made my own “Adventurer” class, specialized in the Stealth discipline, and favoring Agility and Personality. She was born under the “Lady” sign, and her Major skills are: Security, Marksmanship, Sneak, Light Armor, and Short Blade. Minor Skills include Speechcraft, Mercantile, Acrobatics, Athletics, and Illusion. As a character, she has no problem stealing things, but she tends to be an honorable thief. She won’t steal from friends, guild members, or people she respects. She’s good with her voice, and is almost always polite. Role-play-wise, Raktar-la will be heavy on the Charisma aspect, as well as anything involving Stealth.

  • January 2023 Twitch Schedule

    December 29, 2022

I will be continuing to keep the discord events schedule updated as much as I can (or remember to), but this year, I plan to post schedules on a monthly basis – and most of them will be pretty much the same. If there are major changes on any given week, I will notify on twitter or discord. Additionally, I will be launching my next shell challenge (teaser on the graphic below) on the 1st, so watch for that post!

I did intend to start Asylum back up this month, but I think what I’ll do is set up a promotion graphic to try to get some people to make sims for it (because as we all know, I hate making sims!).. and I’ll go back to finish my Gen 3 of the RainbowSins challenge for January. As soon as we hit Gen 4, I will then start up the next season of Asylum (hopefully with a bunch of sims I didn’t have to make!) My guess is, it will start in February, but I will keep you all informed as to launch dates as I get closer to it.

Also: I do still have some Channel Point builds to do, Furnishing the Ugly Build Challenge, as well as the Restrictions and the Backwards Challenges. I also want to finish the Serious, Silly, and Spooky builds from my birthday stream, so it may be a few weeks before I get back to Supernatural Saturday. Sorry for those (including me) who really like it!

One last note.. what do you all think of the new schedule format? I wanted to make it easy to see which game was where, and try to make it so that the schedule is consistent from week to week. Obviously, if I need a Mental Health Day, I will take it, and let you know on discord and Twitter!

I am a 47 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and five young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I am also in the EA Creator Network and an Ubisoft Partner, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
