Welcome to my brand-new story! And yes, this DOES mean that I’m coming back to blogging (on a more limited basis). I was inspired by a challenge being written by a friend of mine, and simply could not … NOT make a Sim and get started. Where this story is going, only the Sim Gods know. But for now, it’s where my brain is at. So… welcome to my newest story!
So what was it that got my attention? Probably the restrictions and difficulty level. Because, see, I’m playing this challenge absolutely Vanilla. No Mods (except maybe build mods). No CC. And – even worse…. For the first generation, I only have Stuff packs and kits installed. Period. No Expansions, no Game Packs. They’re not even activated for this playthrough. That means all those skills – gone. Seasons – nope. Careers? – heck no. Not even the clothes. Oh yeah, and to make it worse? I have to start with ZERO simoleons. On a blank lot. And yes, the candy on top of this sundae is that I’ve decided I will be telling this whole thing as a STORY. So, if this type of torture appeals to you, read on!
So here’s the story… I read the challenge (as I do, I tend to find new challenges and read them for ideas to store in my memory bank for later…) .. and was immediately drawn into it. I tried to ignore it. I tried to move on, get back to work on other things. It just didn’t work. I ended up almost immediately making a sim for this challenge, and within two days… I had played three or four days of her life already, faithfully taking screenshots.
Then came the difficult part… finding a background angle. I had bits of it. I had her fascination with makeup, and why. I also had a basic direction her story was going to go in. But to finalize it… to write it.. I had to finish her background story. Which was harder than I figured it would be. I ended up taking part in a brainstorming sesh with a friend of mine on our sims stories, and we fleshed out the idea. So here she is. Meet Persephone. Percy to her friends… and basically everyone else.
