I really had a good time playing Civ 5 on stream. I just started a random civ game, and ended up doing a cultural victory. Took me two days, but we did win the game. Unfortunately, due to copyright music, I can’t post the VODs for it on youtube, which annoys me to no end, and I apologize for profusely. Unfortunately, this is not the only game this happens with. I promise, though, I’ll post as many of the games as I can, though!!
I really have enjoyed this whole game series, and bringing it on-stream was no different. If you’re into 4X strategy games, this is one that’s high on my list of recommended purchases. If nothing else, get it for the history that they’ve worked so hard to include in the game. The graphics aren’t too bad, either, and the user interface makes the game easy to learn (or pick up again after years of not playing an “Age” game)… So, yeah. Would I give the game a positive review? Heck yeah, and playing it on stream didn’t change my mind.
(more…)I enjoyed the heck out of playing this game on stream. Which explains why it got two full days of play time on my channel. Since then, I’ve watched some other people play it and struggle figuring it out, but I definitely didn’t have the same experience with it. I can’t wait to see what else is added to the game (if anything? – although it still does seem to be in active development, so I hope good things are coming for it!) and I look forward to playing it some more in the future. Definitely on my recommended list if you need something that’s a little open ended and a little bit Zen.
(more…)This is another game I’m fairly sure you’ve heard of, if not played. This game has been around for a long while, and has played a significant role in the history of games. I, personally, have been playing it since the days of Civ 2, and own pretty much every iteration and DLC ever published for the game. You could call me a little bit obsessed. For at least Monday, I will be playing Civilization 5, which remains my favorite of the series. I own 6, but it just hasn’t grabbed my heart like 5 did. There is a chance I might play 6 on Tuesday, however, just to give it another try.
(more…)I honestly have sat here for the past couple weeks trying to figure out what to say in this wrap-up that I hadn’t said already, and I’ve come up super blank. It’s a great game, I enjoy playing it, and if you’re into management or building simulations at all, this is totally a game you’d like. Highly recommended!
(more…)If you’re into real-time strategy at ALL, you’ve played- or at least heard of – the Age of Empires series. It’s been a staple of that particular genre for a very long time. I was hesitant to back a new iteration of the game at first, but after watching some gameplay, and then trying it out myself on Gamepass, I went in with both feet. This is a GREAT version of the game, that not only improves gameplay, but adds some REAL history into it – making it an educational game. Which is something I really enjoy, and the videos and articles in game about the real history are well-filmed, and well-researched. It’s like watching a documentary that you can actually play along with. (Which, for me.. is a super good thing!) If you’re not into the history, I suppose you could skip those – but why would you play this sort of game if you don’t like the history???
(more…)… And now for something completely different. At first glance, this looks like just another mini game you might find on your phone. Let me tell you, if that’s what it is, it definitely got an upgrade. When I first found this game, I over-looked it. Then one of my favorite Twitch streamers played it, and I had to take notice, because it really looked like a lot of fun. So, I bought the game. And almost instantly it joined the ranks of my favorite games. Despite the fact that I’ve played this game less than any of the other current favorites, I know a good one when I see it. I decided early on that maybe I should save this game until I get to play it on stream for everyone to enjoy… and I still think that was the right choice. Really looking forward to jumping into this one tomorrow!
(more…)We’ve already visited with SimTower, and I would be remiss if I didn’t include this game, which is considered by many to be it’s spiritual successor. There have been other tower games, but none have captured the spirit and addictiveness of the original as closely as this one did. I’ve put nearly 100 hours into this game, and I can honestly say I really enjoy it. It’s not the same game as the first by any means – it can’t be left overnight to run to get you cash for building – but it certainly has the same spirit. The expansions for the game have added some really fun features that the original game never thought of, and increased the challenge of keeping a successful tower going. On top of that, this game has scenarios that can challenge and engage you as the player in a number of different ways.
(more…)I had SOOO much fun with this. And, apparently, so did my viewers, because when given the opportunity to choose between sims and a third day of Megaquarium, they chose this game. (See below for links to all three VODs if you missed it!) Overall, this was a really fun time, and provided me with hours of off-stream play this week, too (because I just couldn’t stop playing the game!!) – which meant I got very little else done this week. LOL. Which probably wasn’t a bad thing, it just means I needed a break. I adore this little game, and if you’re into management games, this is one you most definitely should pick up. You won’t regret it!!
(more…)As we move up the ranking list, I fully expect to have games pull me in so “badly” that I will end up wanting to play them more than the two days scheduled, and this is one game I fear will be that way. Currently, the plan is to work on the main story campaign (starting from the beginning) on Monday, and then on Tuesday check out the Freshwater DLC campaign (which I’ve never played)… however, I do not know if I’ll be ready to stop playing after that. So Thursday/Friday this week will serve as “swing” days that I could continue playing if I want to. With that being said, let’s get into learning about this super-addictive little gem of a game.
