Back to this family’s introduction | On to Week 2 (Coming soon)

Well, it’s time to do my next family in the townie rotation. (And the starting picture.. yes.. it snowed in Oasis Springs this week. What the heck?!) Since publishing the introduction, there’s been a Freelancer career introduced, and that sounds like something perfect for a Lazy sim like Nina, so that’s the first thing I do. Get her a “job” .. or at least something to do, because I don’t plan on starting a family this first week. They simply don’t have the money to upgrade the house. Hence the getting a job thing.

Next thing to do is to get them together.

First a little chat.

Then checking out the clouds.. through the roof. Because Sims Logic. At least Nina’s outfit is cute.

Ooohh.. Romance!

Way to go, Steve!

Poor Nina.. she asked him to marry her… and he refused. Don’t worry Nina, we’ll ask again.

Never tried this Freelancer thing.. so we give it a go. Interesting mechanic with the “gigs” like Acting.

Then, her sister randomly stops by and I decide we really ought to talk to her.

Steve needed to practice music for his work.. so here he is.. playing a guitar. Badly.

Bye, sis! It was great talking to you!

Back to “work”. Researching reference images on the computer.

“Ooohh.. Shiney!” See, Nina, I told you we’d get you two together!

Dinner. Garden salad, of course, so he doesn’t burn down the house.

Being funny to sims for his aspiration.

Harvestfest! Wonder if Grim Reaper Gnome likes coffee?

Nope. Sorry!!

Forgiven. Whew.

Inner tube gnome likes pie. First try.. Way to go, Steve.

That Grand Breakfast looks burnt there, Steve. Ew.

.. But at least it fulfills the tradition. Even if it is a poor meal.

Work. I’m starting to get tired of those undies, girlie.

Celebrate the night with a little woohoo? Of course!

Spooky Day! Let’s have fun with pumpkins.

Hooray! Success!

Too cute. Nina, you did a good job.

Steve’s turn. I choose a green one this time.

Hehe. Love the crooked one.

Working on handiness. Somebody’s got to.

A costume before work to cap off the evening.

Never saw a trick or treater.. but we found a ghost to chat to in our Maid costume.

See? I told you someone was going to need Handiness.

With mostly Nina’s money earned, and a few promotions from Steve, we finally afford to expand the house and add the pool that this house is just screaming for.

Our last day – and Mom, Katrina, stops by.

Can’t see it, but Nina got an award at work, and it’s above the computer now.

These are from her work, too, and they fit here like they were meant to be.

And that’s this family’s week. Pretty boring stuff.. but you gotta have some boring stuff to get to the fun stuff, right?
That.. and having a small family for playing was a bit of a relief for a change.

See you next post!

Back to this family’s introduction | On to Week 2 (Coming soon)

Back to Part 1 | On to Week Two (Coming soon)

Back into the melting pot… it’s Thursday morning in game, so we have just a little bit of time left before we switch houses again.

Kev, getting breakfast.

More breakfast.

Kev, working on his Charisma for work. All the kids have gone off to school.

Mom decides to get some fun in on the water slide.

.. Then goes and works on her baking skill. At least this time, she remembered to crack the egg before dropping it in the bowl.

Brantly comes home from school enraged and has to calm himself down.

Homework! It’s always more fun with a buddy.

They decided to go to the bench across the street.. because..??

Kev gets a nice welcome home from work.

Typical teen, on their phone while watching TV.

It’s campfire day. So drinking is a tradition, and I buy them a bar.. temporarily.

Before-school breakfast. Apparently they really like the brownies and the popcorn. Can’t say I blame them…

Mom and dad drinking.. at 7 in the morning. Why not…

Laundry. It never stops.

Brownie and Orange Juice. Yuck. What a combination. But she’s sick, hence the OJ.

I’ve never played with the popcorn maker before, but since it’s so POP-ular (pop.. get it? LOL..), we’ll make some more.

Luna comes home from school with .. er.. I forget which teen.. but Skylar is the one who ended up talking to her, because I was GOING to get her with Brantly, but apparently they hate each other. Wonder why. Also: mom is apparently fixing the sink.

A don’t wake the LLama battle. Wonder who wins? Spoiler: it’s not Parker. He ends up terribly sad.

All the teens are in the next room, watching TV.

It’s still campfire day, so I take all of them to the Ancient Ruins to play with the bonfire there to finish their holidays.

… Turns out that wasn’t the best of my ideas, they all end up “burning from the heat” and have to be sent home in a hurry.

There’s food in the fridge.. but NO. Kev just has to make something as soon as we get home.. and why did I send them all the way to the ruins for fire if he’s going to set one at home? LOL.

Neal, honey, I appreciate the sentiment.. but you’re a bit late. Parker and mom are still running for their lives. It’s over, guys. Really.

See? I told you the popcorn was popular.

Mom cooks, mom cleans…

… Mom fixes things.. this house would fall apart if not for Lucille.

.. While Kev just takes a nap. Useful fella.

I finally decide to send the kids off to do something useful with their lives..

Well.. at least the teens.

You can DO it Brantly!

.. Everyone ends up talking to Neal. Sigh. This is like herding chickens.

Something else to fix.

Brantly was playing by himself, so I send him some competition. No, I don’t know who wins.. because..

REALLY!?!  Twice in two days? I swear, I cleaned the lint trap. That’s it. No more laundry in costume. (He got his feathers a bit burnt… haha.)

The aftermath. And.. more laundry. For some reason, the sprinklers surprised me.. I had already put the fire out. Didn’t realize we had sprinklers here. (or, more specifically, I forgot.)

.. And who’s that lady running OUT of the house.. when she was never invited IN?

Cleaning up. A moment before I took this screenie, he was in his costume in the shower. It was hilarious.

.. Then I notice.. WHAT? How did Parker end up singed??  (And pissed off about it, apparently.)

Yeah, Kev.. do something safe.

Kev, pouring out his troubles to Neal over a bowl of popcorn. As you do.

.. Why are you eating upstairs???

Well, that was a quicker weekend than I expected. Time to switch houses. I’ll be glad to have a smaller household for a change!

See you next time!

Back to Part 1 | On to Week Two (Coming soon)

Back to this family’s Introduction | On to Part 2

Okay. this family is a big melting pot of sims.. but that’s sorta how Foster families work, right? At least, I think so.

First thing I do is some furnishing upgrades in the house. I end up changing something in pretty much every room to make this house work for this many sims. I also move things around in the master bedroom, move the master bath, and add in another bedroom for the fifth kid.

The new Master bed and bath.

Skylar (right) and Parker’s rooms.

Carina’s room, and a shower I added instead of a tub.

Neal and Brantley’s (left) rooms.

The dining room was on the other side of the house.. no way they were going to use it. So here’s my solution.

Family room/study.

The new laundry room and half bath.

The media room and the old dining room, which is now a playroom/games room.

The new monkey bars. True fact: I broke my wrist when I was young falling off the monkey bars. I was ticked, too, because there was a pool party I had to miss the next day.

Kev getting his job.

Lucille setting an 11 PM curfew. She’s going to be a stay at home mom.

Neal painting. If you remember, we saw him in the Landgraab’s house. He’s the teen that Malcolm beat up. LOL.

Skylar playing piano.

Awww.

Hey, it’s not so bad, Brantley. It’s your aspiration, remember?

Working out with Dad.

Breakfast made.. and aren’t you supposed to wash your hands before you eat?

The never-ending job begins.

Autonomously hugging a stinky Brantley.

Skylar chatting on the computer.

The kids go to the park for their aspiration.. and I spot Yuki Behr playing with them. And an idea pops into my head…. so Neal gets brought to the park.

What better way to get to know a girl.. join her club! I’ve never messed with clubs much, so this should be fun. If I remember to go to gatherings.

Chatting up Yuki in the rain.

One of the club tasks is doing homework.. so that’s what they’re doing.

Aww.. I think they look good together. Also: note who showed up in the background. It’s mom, who followed these two teens here of her own accord, checking up on them?

Getting to know her a little bit better. Then it was time to head home before curfew.

Bedtime snacks.

Guess what?? It’s Summerfest! Skylar has breakfast before the festivities begin.

Brantley and Skylar have a water balloon fight, but it doesn’t work too well because there’s so much in the way of landscaping in the back yard…

Neal gets hit practically in the face… poos guy. Maybe he shouldn’t have joined in on the fight…?

Watching sports as a family.

After removing the water balloon bucket since it wasn’t working too well, I added in a water slide instead.. and it turned out to be a big hit.

… It’s not Neal’s day, huh?

Parker’s just too cool for all of this, apparently.

Playing darts.. wonder who will win?

Way to go, Skylar!

Helping out with chores.

Asking for advice from Mom. It’s so hard being a teenager…

Little Carina helps out, too, while Skylar and Brantley do their homework. Skylar doesn’t seem to be having any fun doing it. LOL.

Excuse me, young man… there’s leftovers in the fridge.. why are you trying to kill yourself?

Making more leftovers just to be sure.

This was where they congregated .. in a heat wave.

Brantley apparently had a rough night and is hitting the coffee right after school.

Kev celebrates his promotion by watching more sports.

This place seems to be a Sim-magnet. Before long, Skylar overheated and had to run inside.. where I promptly turned up the AC.

Neal chatting with his mom while painting.

Neal invited Yuki over, and decided since they were now good friends, he’d put the moves on her.

What a face, Neal.. it’s not that serious, is it??

Well, then. I stand corrected. Young love! Yuki responds to the first kiss with a long kiss of her own right afterwards. I would say these two are making a fine couple!!

Skylar chatting with Lucille.

While the kids are at school… Mom pigs out on buttered popcorn. That sounds good… I can’t blame her one bit!

Then, she decides to start learning to bake.. um.. you’re supposed to crack the egg before putting it in the batter, silly…

Somehow, she ends up with excellent sugar cookies anyway. (Watch for the crunchy bits??  LOL)

“I am so not fixing this on my own!!” … calls the Handyman.

Homework party in a more appropriate spot. Brantley seems to have gotten sick overnight, so after this we make him drink some medicine.

… Because he has to go out with his dad. Both needed to work out at the gym for their aspiration.. so off they went.

Apparently Brantley looked like he needed help, because the trainer came over of his own accord to help him out.

Skylar! Not you, too! *sigh* Teenagers and grills. They scare me. Well, it’s Wednesday night, which is a good place to stop for the first half the week. See you next time!

Back to this family’s Introduction | On to Part 2

Back to this family’s Introduction | Week Two coming soon

This particular house was pretty fast to play through, lots of fast forward skilling and working for the two of them.. The next family will have much more interest!

I did some upgrading to the house, pretty much all upstairs (except a high chair down in the dining room)…

Since Katrina’s daughters have moved out, there was plenty of room to convert the bedrooms and the spare bath into something .. more interesting.

A workout room and sauna…

… A nursery. (Wonder what that’s for.. hehe)

And the upstairs balcony into a meditation retreat for Katrina.

After these pictures, I also traded out the bathtub upstairs for a shower/tub combo, and threw in a rock climbing wall in the back yard instead of the gardening stuff I couldn’t see either of them using. 🙂 LOL

The first thing I did was change jobs for Katrina. The new actress career is PERFECT for her, and Don is a good fit for the Bodybuilder career.

Practicing Charisma.

Working out.

Don.. aren’t you supposed to be working out, not checking out her butt??

Chatting away.

Still talking.

STILL talking… er… flirting.

Sauna woohoo.

Katrina apparently wore the youngster out. ROFL.

Their first date.

Dinner was late in coming, so I had them perform a romance scene for tips. They made about $100 off that one scene. Also: note the baby bump.

Welcome Devin Caliente!

Date #2 – they’re at the gym if you can’t tell from the dark photo. Gold date, too.. when the other one only got silver. Go figure.

Don decides to grill of his own accord, so I take a picture in case he sets himself on fire. LOL. All ends up okay, though.

Katrina at work. She ended up getting three promotions this week, and is set for another gig on Monday.

Practicing acting while waiting for boyfriend Don to get home.

… But apparently being a team mascot is hard work. He won’t be much help this evening! Guess no date for Love Day. (They already skipped Easter by being too busy with work)

Turns out Katrina wasn’t far behind Don. Definitely nothing left for date night.

Aww.. a little redhead. Devin rolled Fussy. Ohh boy.

Breakfast.

… While the boys play upstairs.

Teaching him to talk. With all the Charisma in this house, he’s gotta start early.

And Don finished the week not a mascot anymore. Good job!

Aww. Cute little family unit. See you next family for another big family madhouse!

Back to this family’s Introduction | Week Two coming soon

Back to Part 1 | Week Two coming soon..

I found the second half of this much harder to play. I didn’t have any major story ideas.. and I couldn’t wrap my head around Winterfest holidays in this particular family.

I’ll start this update with another house update. I decided they needed a better bed.

Where’s Malcolm?

Skipping school again. Bad grades is hard work. LOL. (And why the lights sometimes don’t turn on baffles me…)

Cassandra calls in the evening, asking if Malcolm wants to go out to eat. Sure, why not.

.. Such a cute couple!

Cassandra apparently chugged her drink.

… What a face, Malcolm. What’s wrong? (He’s had a long day, apparently..)

Cheesecake sounds good…

… Completely unprompted from me, he decides to take a selfie after the date.

Guess what today is?! Winterfest!

Adding to the present pile. Too bad it’s already been sabotaged. (Completely autonomously, too…)

Waiting to open presents. Might as well work on that Charisma.

Haha. Dad got an eel. And I learn that a sabotaged present pile isn’t sabotaged if you add presents to it later.

Oh, hey, look who’s here?!

Hey honey!

I had him buy her a book. She seems happy with it. Note that Dad is walking past… guess he’s not mad at Malcolm anymore?

Kiss time!

After she leaves (to head back to probably getting in trouble for sneaking out again….) we let the holiday spirit mend some fences in the household.

Teenager walks by.. and all Malcolm can think is that maybe he’s got his eye on his girl. (Or at least, that’s where my imagination went..)

“Stay away from her!”

Nobody walking past seems the slightest bit concerned with this.

… But Malcolm won the fight. His reputation goes down, but that’s okay. I don’t think he minds.

Back again?

Best of friends.

Eating the butler’s meals again. Nobody in this house cooks except for him.. LOL.

How about a sleepover? My parents won’t mind!

.. Sure!

Awww…

Naoko, be quiet with that screwdriver now. They’re sleeping!

Geoffrey seems ecstatic that 1, he’s friends with his son again, and 2, Nancy got a promotion.

Breakfast with the butler.

.. Looks like she had a good night.

“Hey, wanna skip school with me? One day won’t matter, right?”

I take the two of them off to the park in Willow Creek. Turns out Cassandra’s not so good at skating.

“Just fixing my skate.” (riiight.)

“Whoooaaa!!”

Snow pal time!

… What the heck kind of snow pal is that??

.. Malcolm’s first reaction is to kick it over. HAHA.

Winter-time kisses.

Checking out the chess tables.

Malcolm decided he wasn’t any good at chess, and cheered Cassandra on instead.

Cass is apparently thinking of moving. Can’t say I blame her.

Uh-oh, guess who’s here.

Drink to the face in the middle of winter. Malcolm counts this argument as a “win” for him.

Distractions? No, really??

Parental disappointment over the grades.

C’mon, it can’t be that bad, Malcolm. LOL.

Sure.. New Year’s Eve, so make sure your son has a drink at 11 AM.

And another one??

They spend the day as a “family”, playing games and chatting. (And apparently, drinking.. lol)

Countdown to midnight.

The week’s over! Hooray! (Wait, I don’t think that’s what they’re cheering over.. haha.)

See you for the next family!

Back to Part 1 | Week Two coming soon..

Back to this family’s Introduction | On to Part 2

Our first family in Oasis Springs, and it’s winter. Go figure. Even better… I don’t even know how to handle the holidays in a family that’s too stuck up to always be a family… LOL. Well… we’ll see how it goes.

First thing I do is a couple of updates to the house.. although I end up doing at least one more as the week goes on.

A butler suite…

And a bigger TV, coffee table, and games system for Malcolm.

Next thing… is adding a butler. Because Landgraabs. Obviously.

Meet Naoko.

Aww.. at least they’re starting out the week acting like a family. (With food the butler cooked.. of course.)

Well.. At least some of them are…. Nancy’s working on her sadly lacking Mischief skill.

It occurs to me the house is missing another few things…

Laundry room..

… And FISH!! .. Because fishies.

Malcolm discovers the game system. (And the Alexa.. lol.)

… However, it doesn’t make him all that happy.

.. Someone else has homework for work.

… And look who showed up all by themselves. Awesome. Let the story-telling begin.

“Welcome to my house” … Cassandra looks overwhelmed. She knew he was rich.. but.. still..

“Don’t worry, dad and mom are too busy with their work to bother us.” .. Suave kiss.

Cassandra .. “Does this mean I can have a convertible?” (The thought bubble was worth the extra trouble of screen shotting. I had nothing to do with making her think that…)

“You’re welcome here anytime, honey..” … “REALLY?”

“We’ll be together forever. I promise”

“I love you so much Malcolm!”

Cassandra – “But what about my parents?!”  .. Malcolm – “Aww, who cares, they’ll get over it.”

“My room’s awesome, isn’t it?” .. “Wow”

“What’s going on in here?!?”

Cassandra – “Oh my gosh, I knew this was going to happen!!”

“Back off, Dad, I love her!” “But you’re just a kid, this is totally inappropriate!”

“LA LA LA .. Can’t hear you, Dad..”

“Son, we need a serious talk.”

“Why? I know what I’m doing!”

“Just get out of my life!”

“Don’t worry, Cassandra, things will turn out okay.”

“I’m sure of it.”

“You caught him doing WHAT?  With WHO?”

Cassandra heads home. Probably to face the music for sneaking out.

“Malcolm, your Dad’s just trying to be helpful. It’s a parent’s job..”

After the late night chat, the butler can’t quite make it to his bed. I laughed way too hard.

… Oh look, he finally made it!

The next day, Malcolm skips school…. to confront the Goths.

He was aiming for Mortimer, but Bella came home first.

… She looks shocked.

“Cassandra can live her own life. And she chose me!”

“I don’t THINK so.”

The look of satisfaction….

.. Because, apparently, Bella won the argument. Malcolm notices that Mortimer came home, and heads inside… only…

… Couldn’t be a better time for a mood swing?! .. At least the moodlet is appropriate. LOL.

.. Just for Malcolm’s well-being, we have him calm down before confronting Mr. Goth.

“What are you doing in my house?”

SHOVE. (Real mature, there, Malcolm..)

“She’s mine! Keep your nose out of our business!!”

“Please stop fighting!!” (I had to laugh at this screenshot. So like Alexander to try to be the peace-maker…)

“Get out of my house” … Malcolm – “That’s all you have to say??”

“Malcolm!”

“I love you!” .. “Things will be okay!”

…. I’m not even sure his parents noticed he was gone…

See you in Part two!

Back to this family’s Introduction | On to Part 2

Back to Part One | On to Part Three!

So.. it’s been a long while. And two new towns released since I last played this family…. so that’s interesting. I got the families set to played so they wouldn’t go anywhere, and the town tours and indexes set up. Don’t have the family introductions done yet, but that’s on my to-do list. More in the mood to actually play, so I’m taking advantage of it while I can. Anyway.. welcome back to the Orphanage. Let’s get started on finishing the week so I can move on.

While the kids are getting ready for school (all in great shape because of the loading other families thing… so nothing needed doing.).. Maggie harvests her flowers.

More flowers.

Since I missed the “work at home?” question due to loading time, Maggie has to actually go to work. I’m not sure this is gardener-appropriate clothing, though. Something about the fishnet stockings puts where she’s actually going into question.

While everyone is gone, Mr. Renaissance sim works on reading his last two books for his first aspiration milestone.

… That completed, he heads for the chess set to work on his logic skill.

… This looks familiar. Doesn’t it?

Everyone’s home from school.. so it’s homework (and housework) party time.

Then, it’s time to play. Trinity and Ximena on the jungle gym. Another cloudy day, but at least it’s not raining.

Nearly time for dinner, so Seth is cooking while Maggie works on her gardening.

Bristol challenges Chase to a game of chess.

Um.. Seth….??? What in the world are you DOING?!? Streaking and housework with a million kids in the house. Sigh.

I finally decide to buy the expensive game console for our resident Geek, Chase.

Another game of chess. Again, I don’t know who won.

Late dinner for Maggie and Katarina.

… And bedtime chores for Seth. Something’s always broken!!

Wednesday night.. and all is calm.

Thursday morning, and it’s time for Harvestfest.  Yep. That means everyone stays home for the day. Yikes. going to be a looong day.

Starting out with more repairs. As usual.

Cooking a Turkey meal. It turned out “poor”, unfortunately, but at least it’s food.

Kent, my little helper.. takes it upon himself to set the table. Then complains about smelling.

Maggie researching plants.

Finally. It’s a beautiful day, and Bristol and Trinity take full advantage of the sunlight to play outside.

Katarina and Chase working on their Social skill.

Kent doing his extra credit. On his own.

Trinity and Bristol are now best of friends.. which completes Bristol’s milestone, although Trinity still need social skill for hers.

My attempt to get Ximena focused to get her homework aspiration done with. I forget about her, though, and I have to save it for another day because she runs out of focus while doing her homework.

Kent and Bristol chatting. Social need is not a problem in this house, that’s for sure.

Maggie and Seth working on their relationship. They don’t have much time to themselves, but I try to fit some in when I can!

Trinity trying to make a random friend for her aspiration.

…. Seth insists on lighting a fire despite all the kids in the house. Is that REALLY a smart idea??

Trinity cloudgazing. Spoiler alert: her new “friend” leaves before she can finish becoming a “friend”.

I catch Kent cleaning up the dishes all by himself in a dark corner of the house.

Thursday night bedtime hijinks. I make Trinity clean up her own mess.

… Our first bear mood swing. Spoiler: it’s not the last.

Kent is up in the middle of the night cleaning up the laundry.

… Only to make another pile of clothes as he showers to get ready for school.

… And here is where I realize I simply have too many pictures to do this in two posts… and I split this post up again.

Back to Part One | On to Part Three!

Back to Part Two | Week Two coming soon

… And we’re back!

Friday (Spooky Day!!) dawns early with Seth cleaning up the backyard to prepare for the festivities.

Being that it’s the day after Harvestfest each year and the kids already had one day off of school, I have it set so they go to school on Spooky Day… so everyone is finishing up their morning and heading out the door. Shortly after this photo, I sell the gnomes so I stop getting seeds for Maggie.

While the kids are at school, Seth works on upgrading the plumbing so hopefully it breaks less. (Yeah… right. I never really notice a difference, but I keep trying anyway.) This gives him his fourth handiness point.

Maggie doing some chores while the kids are at school. Notice the washer working again, too. I swear, they run it at least once a day!

Maggie wasting time working on her flower arranging skill.

… Another broken plumbing item.

.. What is Seth planning??

A costume party for the whole family! … I also set up the house.

Everyone gets a pumpkin station…

… And a trick or treat bowl. (Which I find out does NOT complete the trick or treat part of the holiday.. apparently each person has to physically give treats to the passers-by to have that complete.)

.. The kids doing their homework before the party like good little soldiers. LOL.

… Costumes!!!

Being that he’s an elder, I found Seth’s choice of costume hilarious.

… Pirate # 1…

… Pirate #2. (He’s upset because he can’t be a bear for the party. Poor Kent.)

.. A skinky skellie. (But to be fair, Ximena was working on her focused homework aspiration, so she didn’t have time for a pre-party shower. She’ll live.)

… And the last costume. Maggie didn’t automatically change into hers… so I made her change.. and discovered that if they don’t do it manually, changing for the party doesn’t count for the holiday credit, either. (Which is why you see some different costumes later)

The pumpkin-carving party. Everyone is having so much fun!

The only trick-or-treater that I notice for the evening. Isn’t her costume gorgeous?!?! This is also when I notice that it doesn’t count for anyone’s holiday credit…. but the party is so hectic, I don’t have time to hunt for the trick-or-treaters for everyone’s credit.

.. Scaring each other .. because it’s spooky day! And no, I have no idea who’s in the sleepy hollow costume… but I think it’s my favorite of the entire night.

Spooky Cookies for Yoda…

… Maybe Maggie’s really a hotdog delivery person?? … Just kidding.

.. I spy someone who opted out of costumes behind our pretty caterer. (Who seems quite overwhelmed by the whole party. I also find out caterers will put laundry in the washing machine. Who knew??)

Ahoy! Bear sighting!

.. The last person up. Katarina finishes her cookies before bed.

… The morning-after mess.  And the start of another long day with all the kids home because it’s Saturday. At least the week is almost over, though!

As usual, Kent seems to do the lion’s share of the clean-up.

… And Seth has something else to fix. How many times can this thing break in a week??

Playtime… 🙂

.. Someone decides to use the puppet theater.. but I have no idea who, I never checked. I was too busy trying to get the week over with. LOL.

… Really Seth???  Again?!?

.. A broken fridge. The party cleanup is continuing in the background.

Everything’s clean.. homework’s done.. time to relax.

.. Poor Maggie appears to be feeling her age.

SETH!!! This was supposed to be the last, easy day of the week, not the day to give me a heart attack!

Maggie shows off her grit and comes to the rescue, while Ximena (rightly so!) panicks and everyone else runs for the sidewalk.

…. More rain. This is the first time I’ve ever noticed that they can “use” the mud puddles to have a mud fight, though. How cute.

I catch most of the family gathered around the table. (Seth is off camera somewhere showering.)

… More bedtime hijinks. Hehe.

… And that’s it for the week. Here’s Bristol as the last one to bed before my 5:30 AM household switch. The only thing that happens before morning is Maggie waking up early to take a shower (after cleaning it…) .. and I didn’t think I needed a picture for that.

Next up… time to move to Oasis Springs and the Landgraab family!

Back to Part Two | Week Two coming soon

Main Apartment Switch Rules | Switch Six Rules
Switch Five Part 2

We start by looking at Selina Nash’s starting stats:

She’s not exactly in a good mood. I guess first thing will be to find some people to talk to. But first, I give her a high paying job…

And off we go. I don’t take a whole lot in the way of pictures through this last segment of testing, I really just wanted to get it over with. In fact, I end up not even getting the heir to YA.. just proving that the other goals are possible. Waiting for YA was just too boring and I wanted to get back to other games.

Meet Shingo. Traits are good, so we woo him pretty much immediately.

We do have to wait a while before I have enough for a bed, kitchen, and bathroom so we can move him in. He picks up a painting career, and starts working on his skill so he can get me some masterpieces for the final penthouse’s value.

Time to move!

New apartment furnishings are a little on the sparse side, but it’ll do. For now.

I move in a third sim, Ayuun, who is also a painter.

And give him a bedroom.

Nice little family!

Time to move again.

As for affording things in the new place… not so much. As you can tell, I’m planning on moving in a fourth sim.

And that’s him.. sleeping. Nobuya, who is going to be an Astronaut… which is one of the higher paying careers, so it should help with funds quite a bit.

Everyone’s busy. Just the way I like it.

Selina (and me) get bored, so I get her an easel, too, and make some more money that way.

Nobuya making a friend.

The two painters getting their museum views done in the Brindleton museum. I hadn’t ever been there, so I decided that’s where I’d send them.

Dinner time.

Merry Winterfest! Must decorate the tree! (So I make them ALL do it.)

Decorating is moving right along. The grand meal for Christmas looks nice and festive.

… And presents. Strangely enough, Shingo’s present was completely empty. Both from the tree and from Father Winter. Poor guy.

Time to move. Barely made it before aging up.

Man, this penthouse is HUGE. So I had to take multiple pictures of the scant furniture I put in.

There they all are.. ready to get to work making more money.

I put in all the masterpieces I’ve saved up… and this ended up being the value of the penthouse on move-in. The place looks silly with expensive artwork everywhere and nothing else but a couple offices and beds.

Time for the heir!

With all the money coming in, this doesn’t take long at all….

I add a third floor for the kids.

… And then I get a little obsessed with the toddler gym.

Rawr! Mommy monster!

I’m king of the world!! Oh yeah, this is the heir, Layne.

Even Shingo gets in on the jungle gym fun.

And this is where I finally get tired of playing this save. I proved that you can get target value without using the aging potions, too, which was pretty impressive. I could have added more to the house, and Selina was pregnant with their third kid, but I just couldn’t take fast forwarding anymore. So here’s the house…

… And the final value.

This officially concludes the testing phase for the Apartment Switch. YAY!!

Switch Five Part 2

We start by looking at Connor Ritchie’s starting stats:

And we made 916 simoleons from high school grades pushing us to rank 3 in his career. After sending him out collecting posters, he’s got enough to at least buy a computer station and a cooler for food. I waited on bed and bathroom since if he must he can sleep on benches and go pee in the public restroom. It’s not much.. but it’s home!

Then, the second day, we meet Deja cruising around outside the apartment and she was flirty.. and seemed to have decent traits.. so we made our move.

Deja’s spending the night.. and apparently the resident ghost had to come out to check her out.

In the morning, since I have a bed for her to sleep in, I pop the question with no idea how it’ll turn out.

Success!

Meet Deja Andrade. She wants to find her soulmate.. and I think she just did. 🙂

With proceeds from work and a lot of poster hunting, we even have a bathroom of sorts.

Soon after, it’s starting to look like a real apartment.

Aww.. Sorry Deja. 🙁

All the hard work paid off, though, because it’s time to move!

Didn’t take too long, but I already feel behind the curve.

And apartment pics:

Here’s what they were able to afford in the second apartment:

Why is everyone getting sick when I need them to make money?! Cmon sims.. be nice to me. At least we have walls now.

And the start of an actual kitchen/breakfast nook.

Downstairs is done!

Proof that I’ve been going on the many dates required by the Soulmate aspiration. This is in the Experimental Kitchen restaurant that I built.

Time to move on!

Money’s coming faster.. but I still just don’t know if I’ll get this done in time… Never tried doing a Mansion Baron aspiration with only two money making sims before.

The upstairs…

And the downstairs.

Yikes! What on earth am I going to do with all this space?!?!

Deja is in the business career (painting career isn’t great money) but painting as a “hobby” in the hopes that we’ll get masterpiece paintings to raise the value of the next (and final) apartment. I start stockpiling any masterpieces in the household inventory to take with me. .. And then there’s poor Connor, constantly writing for more money.

Okay. almost all painted and portioned out.

This is to commemorate Deja getting her aspiration… soulmate. Now she can work on the Painter one.

.. And this is what I watch day in and day out. … fun, huh?

Time to move again!

Final shot of the apartment:

And here’s what we could afford in the penthouse after building the shell. i.e. not much.

Shortly after moving in, with money prospects still looking iffy, I chose to use the potion of youth on both Deja and Connor, to give me more time to get to 350k value.

Turns out I may not have needed it in the end, based on how much money I had left, but it was better safe than sorry.

Here’s a shot of the “finished” shell.. lots of furnishing left to do, though.

The heir is born!

Awww

To prove Connor got goal done. At this point, I was doing so much fast forwarding I didn’t take much in the way of pictures.

Time for a spare!

Our heir, Alexandra, sleeping peacefully for a change.

Isn’t she a cutie?

My try for just one more kid goes horribly awry. TWINS!

Alexandra as a teen.

Final Stats: We squeaked by on value, but got it all the same.

And a quick penthouse tour.

Now off to test Normal mode!

I am a 47 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and five young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I am also in the EA Creator Network and an Ubisoft Partner, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
