Intro | Modified Settlers Rules | Generation 3
As I mentioned in my last post, I’m working on the Settlers Challenge. I’ve now finished with generation 1 and moved on to the second. I don’t have any pictures of the families from the first gen, but I did go in and take pictures of the homes/lots. (Edit: I found pics!) I don’t remember all of the events, but will list what I do remember. (That, and for the first few weeks I didn’t do events since I was still following the rules that they were optional.)
Generation 1

Adam Newcrest – Bookworm, Clumsy, Active, Bestselling Author
Dylan Newcrest – Insane, Loner, Squeamish, Super Parent

(After these screenshots I moved the urns to the back yard. LOL I honestly didn’t even notice them when I went into build mode to take screenies.)

I rolled a 1 for their kids (I wasn’t yet rolling 2-4). Didn’t do an heir roll, it was decided by an event.
- Heir: Kody
- Sibling: Dallas
Events that happened during this generation:
- Building Permit renewal
- Struck Oil (+50k)
- Family moved in (Franz)
- Add baby to main family (Dallas)
- Remove possible heir – rolled a 2 for Dallas, so by default Kody became the heir
- Adam finished his aspiration
Lots Built/ Families Moved in:
- Chappell Family: (From Charisma level 6) Connor and Nicole, and the kids Teen Berjes, Child Johnnie, and Toddler Twins Miranda and Max

- Franz Family: (From Event) Pierre and Ivy, and the kids Teen Lucas and Child Brandy

- Twin Oracle Point: (Park) Handiness 6, and 20k from family funds.

Town Stats: One community lot and three families for a total population of 14 sims.
Generation 2
Starter house:

Finished House:

Heir: Kody Newcrest – Outgoing, Active, Goofball, Joke Star (also got Compassionate, Good Manners, Mediator, Responsible, and Happy Toddler)
Partner: Brandy Franz – Self-Assured, Art Lover, Hates Children, Computer Whiz
I rolled a 3 for their kids, and a 3 for the third kid being the heir.
- Twins: Jayce (Active, Vegetarian, Cat Lover, Master Chef) and Joshua (Cheerful, Active, Good, Party Animal)
- Heir: Alec (Active, Mean, Loves Outdoors, Vampire Family)
- Plus one from event – (that turned into twins): Rudy (Perfectionist, Evil, Fabulously Wealthy) and Candice (Goofball, Vegetarian, The Curator)
- Plus one from medical unsafe woohoo – Dillon (Cat Lover)
Events that happened during this generation:
- Building Permits need logic
- Add baby to family: rolled 1-4 for eligible families, rolled a four for played family (of course I did. lol)
- Family moves in (Callaway)
- Fire! Park building burns down, 5000 needed for damage control.
- More building permit issues – didn’t have time to get the logic points, so I had to wait a week to build.
- Rolled a Vampire Aspiration on the heir, Alec. (Looks like I’ll be in Forgotten Hollow next generation!)
- Add a baby for the fall festival.. rolled a five and it looks like Brandy’s brother is getting a nooboo! Welcome to Makayla!
- Joshua died from being too angry. (haha what?! stupid mood swings)
- Add baby to family: rolled a 1-5 for eligible families, and added a son, Riley, to the Li-Reinhardt family.
- Chappell family dies out.
- Franz family leaves town (I think they got culled.. although why the game would do that to a favorited family I don’t know..)
Lots Built/ Families Moved in:
- Callaway Family: (From event) Bradford (Cheerful, Creative, Clumsy, Outdoor Enthusiast) and Holly (Clumsy, Art Lover, Self-Assured, Angling Ace) and Twin Toddlers Robin and Sidney (both girls)

- Li-Reinhardt Family: (From Charisma level 6 rolled a two so I put in a same sex couple) Melody Li (Lazy, Gloomy, Materialistic, Musical Genius) and Mandy Reinhardt (Goofball, Geek, Noncommittal, Soulmate)

- Blue Velvet Bowling Lounge: Comedy level 6 and 20k from family funds. Edited a gallery lot. Didn’t feel like building one all on my own.

Town Stats: Two community lots and six families for a total population of 16 sims.
Intro | Modified Settlers Rules | Generation 3
I found this challenge on Mod the Sims.. (here) and liked the look of it, so I started playing. I found it 1.. too easy.. and 2.. lacking in rules for the expansions. So I’m modifying it for my uses. I don’t plan to blog the story of my “colony” (town), but I may post some build pictures and stuff as I go. I’m almost done with the first generation currently and I have 3 families (14 total sims) living in my town. Anyway. Back on topic. I wanted to write down my variation of the rules.. mostly so I don’t lose them. So here they are. Anything I changed I put in italics.
THE SIMS 4 SETTLER CHALLENGE
Your sim has decided to be one of the brave heroes throughout history who travel to the loneliest places on Earth to find a new home. Your job is to survive and create a thriving colony in the middle of nowhere.
GOAL
To build and to populate your colony. The challenge is over when you’ve lifted all restrictions. (My goal: lift all restrictions, have at least one of each community lot, and fill all lots except for the city apartments).
SETTING UP
-Set lifespan to normal.
-Aging must be on.
-Create a couple in CAS (young adult or adult). They are your settlers. Pick their traits and aspirations randomly (you can use dice, random.org or this trait generator: https://www.platinumsimmers.com/trait-randomiser/). Choose which one of them you’re going to control. (I use http://createarandomsim.com)
-Bulldoze all lots in the world (exceptions: The Bluffs, Von Haunt Estate, Ancient Ruins, and The Secret Lab.) Your sims are settlers and there are no other people living in the colony yet. You may leave one starter house and buy that lot for your sims, or you can build a completely new house or download one from the gallery.
-Delete all households except for the one you made. More will be spawned randomly.
-Choose the starting era for your settlers and choose the furniture, clothes, decorations etc. accordingly. For example, if you want to start in the Wild West in the 19th century, don’t buy a television. (Besides, your colony won’t have electricity in the beginning in any case.)
-You must use all or almost all your money building and furnishing the house. You can also buy up to three books and one pack of seeds. The point is that you must not have any money when you start the game. If you run out of things to buy for some reason, use a money cheat to reduce your money to zero.
RULES
-You may only control one sim. That sim is called the heir. You will control several heirs during this challenge, but only one at a time.
-There may only ever be one heir at a time. You can freely choose who the next heir is and you can decide when to start playing the next heir, but once you’ve decided, you can’t change your mind and go back to playing the old heir. If you start playing the new heir while the old one is still alive, the old one is not considered an heir anymore.
-The new heir must be the previous heir’s child.
-If the heir has many children, all those children except the future heir must move out when they become young adults – I’m changing this to the heir moves out and “takes” 20k simoleons from the household treasury. (That’s not arbitrary, that’s the amount that a sim moves into a lot with, so you have to have that much in their parent’s bank account to “take with them”. Use a cheat to reduce the parent’s bank account by this much.) This makes it more of a challenge to earn money the next generation, and allows me to play with many different houses so I don’t get bored.
-The heir may marry and move their spouse in.
-You may not age sims up days before their actual birthday.
-Cheats, mods or hacks that give you an advantage over a person who doesn’t use them are not recommended.
-If you want to make this challenge easier, you can use one helper (the spouse / sibling / parent etc. of your heir). The helper may do simple tasks (such as repair an object, water plants, cook a meal, feed a baby), but you shouldn’t control the helper too much – only a couple of tasks a day. If you don’t use a helper, you may notice that the inactive sims in your family won’t do much (or any!) work autonomously, which does not feel very realistic in a hard-working colony. Not using this rule.. the challenge is easy enough as it is.
-Traits and aspirations are always randomized when a baby is born or a sim ages up. You can use any random trait generator (e.g. http://www.simslegacychallenge.com/…rait-generator/ or https://www.platinumsimmers.com/trait-randomiser/) or just roll dice. Exception: You may choose the traits and aspirations for the child if either of the child’s parents has any of the following traits: Family-Oriented, Patriarch, Mentor. (No changing aspirations until “higher education” restriction is lifted).
RESTRICTIONS AND HOW TO LIFT THEM
School
There is no school in your colony. You must prevent children from going to school.
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-There must be at least twelve people living in your colony (your family included).
Medicine
Hospital births are not allowed and woohooing may always lead to a pregnancy (roll a six-sided die or use random.org first: 1 means you need to pick the interaction Try for baby instead, and if you roll 2-6 you can just pick Woohoo). You can always choose to Try for baby if you want to.
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-There must be at least three different community lots in your colony
Electricity
There is no electricity yet. You may not use the computer, the TV, the radio etc. (You may use the fridge, however).
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-There must be at least four different community lots in your colony AND one of the sims in your current family must have 6 skill points in Handiness — I’m eliminating this entire rule. People out in the boonies can have electricity fairly easy, whether by cabling to the local grid or using a generator.. I’m putting my guys in this modern era, and it just doesn’t make sense to restrict electricity.
Careers
You may not have a normal job as there aren’t any companies or infrastructure. Careers are therefore not allowed, but you may use other means to earn money (painting, collecting, gardening, fishing etc.)
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-There must be at least five different community lots in your colony
-There must also be at least thirty people living in your colony (including your family)
Higher education
There are no possibilities for higher education in your colony. If you unlock this, you can always choose the traits for your sims when they age up or are born. With this lifted, you can also change aspirations.
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-You need to lift the restriction School first
-To lift this restriction, one of the sims in your current family must have the trait Genius and be at least a young adult. — Changing this to the heir needing to have the genius trait rolled in randomly.. so this could be either fast or interminably slow.
Aliens
If you happen to marry in an alien… congrats. You’ve got alien DNA. If your male heir gets abducted (or the partner of your heir) the alien baby is still allowed to be an heir. If you don’t want aliens, feel free to discount this rule.
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-You need to find an alien to marry or get abducted and have a little blue surprise.
Pets
There are no pets allowed in your town. Once a sim qualifies for being a vet, they can build a vet clinic and lift this restriction. Again, if you don’t want pets, just ignore this rule and reroll the Cat or Dog Lover traits on your heirs.
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-To qualify to lift this requirement, your heir needs to randomly roll either Cat Lover or Dog Lover trait.
-This heir then works towards getting money and setting up a Vet Clinic (requirements for this below). Once the Vet Clinic is built and in service, pets are allowed in any and all families.
Vampires
You may not play a vampire or have your sim turned into one. If you don’t want to have vampires, that’s fine as well, just ignore this rule and reroll an aspiration if you get one of the Vampire ones.
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-To lift this restriction, your heir must randomly roll one of the Vampire Aspirations. This heir will then live in Forgotten Hollow when he/she moves out. To become a vampire, you have a choice to 1, make a vampire to turn you, or find one in and amongst the homeless in your town. If you choose to make the vampire, treat him or her as a new “family” to move in.. as they move in you must build them a house (unless, of course, you plan to marry them into the family).
-If your vampire heir’s heir 1, does not roll a Vampire aspiration (which is extremely likely) and 2, is a vampire – you must cure them of vampirism BEFORE they move out. Doing this will require your heir to be at level 10 vampire lore and get 10 wolfsbane, 10 garlic, and 10 plasma fruit to make the potion.
–If you choose to make your partner a vampire, and your heirs are vampires, you may control them to 1, feed them, and 2, keep them out of the sunlight. Vampire sims aren’t the smartest and the AI will not take care of them on their own.
Strangerville
You may not move into StrangerVille or build any houses or lots there. until . Once you have a sim roll the StrangerVille aspiration, you can then work your way through the aspiration to open the town for others.
Requirements for lifting this restriction:
-To lift this restriction, you need to complete the StrangerVille aspiration and finish the “quest” (No spoilers from me here, but there will be a change in the town once you finish it) Once complete, this town will function just like any other and you’re welcome to build lots and move families in.
POPULATING THE COLONY
Yours is the only family living in the colony in the beginning.
Rules for adding families:
-When you are allowed to add a family, create them in CAS or download them from the Gallery. Roll a six-sided die or use random.org to determine the number of people in the family (between 1 and 6).
Different ways to populate the colony:
-Have babies! (For each heir’s family, I roll a random number between 2 and 4 to decide the number of kids they’ll have. This leaves room for event rolled children.. again, I’ll explain that later. This also allows for one non-heir to stay behind to live in the house. I then roll a die for the number of kids to find out which one will be the heir.)
-You can use your Charisma skill to persuade people to join your colony: You can add one family for every sim in your family who has reached level 6 in Charisma. (I’m changing this to being only the heir having the charisma skill, even if you did manage to get a spouse or kid with a 6 in charisma, they cannot bring in another family, only heirs can do this.)
-You can also attract people by hosting great parties. You may add one family for every type of party for which you’ve got a gold medal. You can only invite people who live in your colony to your parties, you can’t invite homeless people!
-Improving the services and the infrastructure in your colony will also make people move into your community. You may add one family for every community lot you add
–Event rolls.. more on this later..
ADDING RESIDENTIAL LOTS
I’m adding info on this, since it’s never specifically stated how and when you add new residential lots in the original rules.
When to add a lot:
-When you earn a population increase by either– 1, your heir’s charisma skill, 2, getting a gold on a party (once per party type, not individual party), or 3, adding a community lot– this family (you roll a 1-6 to figure out how many sims to make in this family) moves in and you build a house for them. Since they won’t be played by you, using money cheats to build their house is okay. Once they’re moved in, set them as unplayed in the manage households screen (in manage world) and this house is theirs. Should this family all die out, it’s free real estate for homeless townies to move into (unless you don’t like this idea, in which case you have 3 options: 1, when the family dies out, let the ghosts live there, 2, make a new family (with your 1-6 roll) to move in, or 3, use this lot for the next family set to move in.
-When your heir moves out with their 20k simoleons. Move them into a blank lot and use their 20k to build a starter home that they can add on to as they earn money.
-When you roll to add a four person family on an event roll.. more on this later..
ADDING COMMUNITY LOTS
There may only be one community lot of each type (ie. one café or restaurant, one pub or bar, one library etc.). One heir can unlock and add only one community lot during their lifetime, unless they have one or several of the following traits: Business Savvy, Genius, Ambitious. In that case, they may unlock and add one community lot per each of those traits that they have during their lifetime. (Edit… I can build more than one of each type, but still only one per heir’s lifetime. There’s just too many lots for them ALL to be residential, and I want to try to fill all of them except the city lots – haven’t decided what to do with those yet.)
When a community lot has a certain cost, you can either pay for that lot or try to fill the other requirements, in which case you won’t have to pay anything. If you decide to pay, just use a money cheat to reduce your money by the required amount. — (Nope. Too easy. The simoleon cost I’m raising from 5000 per lot to 20000… and I require BOTH the skill and the money requirement to build a lot.)
You don’t have to add all the community lots listed here in order to win this challenge. You can choose which ones to build. (?? Very confused by this, but eliminating it. No sense to skip any lots when I have all that space to build on!)
A church / a wedding venue / some other nice place for your colony to gather and meet each other (I made mine a Park – generic would also be a good choice.)
This should preferably be the first public building or venue that you create. There are many nice choices in the Gallery (under General), but you can also build it yourself. Just remember not to make it too modern!
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 6 skill points in Handiness
A café (or) restaurant or a bakery
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND OR your heir must have 6 skill points in Gourmet cooking
A pub or a bar
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 6 skill points in Mixology
A museum or an art gallery (or arts center)
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 6 skill points in Painting
A library
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 6 skill points in Writing
A concert hall or a lounge
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 6 skill points in Guitar, Violin or Piano (or Comedy)
A (National) park
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 6 skill points in Gardening
A nightclub (or karaoke bar)
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 8 friends outside the current family
A gym (or pool)
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 6 skill points in Athletics
A bakery or retail store
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: The cost of the lot AND all building material and furnishings. This is likely to cost more than 20k, so I’m eliminating needing any skills to open one.
A Spa
Unlocking requirements:
-Cost: 20k simoleons AND your heir must have 6 skill points in Wellness skill
A Vet Clinic
Unlocking requirements:
-First, your heir MUST randomly roll either Cat Lover or Dog Lover trait as they’re growing up. Once you have an heir that qualifies, they can start building their Vet Clinic
-Cost: The cost of building the lot and furnishing it. This isn’t cheap, and you raise Vet Skill by actually doing it, therefore there is no skill requirement for this building.
Random events – optional (This is being made mandatory in my version of the challenge.)
If you want, you can roll a random event every Sunday to keep things interesting (use dice or random.org). (I did some moving around of options, and removed one completely. I didn’t feel the war on the borders killing the young adults was appropriate given the fact that I’m setting it in the modern era.) To make things even more interesting, you can roll both Sunday and Wednesdays like I am.
1 The spring festival makes people romantic. Add a new baby to a random female in your colony (Manage Worlds -> Household Management -> Edit sims in CAS).
2 A casanova moves into the community, sweeps one of the female sims in town (I changed this from having her be in your family. roll off the eligible females to decide which one it is.) off her feet and knocks her up. Pick the female sim randomly. That sim may even be your heir if your heir is female. Instructions: Create the casanova in CAS (if you haven’t already), move him into the female sim’s house and make him Try for baby with the selected sim. You can then move him out if you want to (if you move him out, make sure you build him a home or put him in one of the existing empty homes).
3 A flood destroys the house of one family in your colony (pick randomly) and you want to help them. Move them into your house. You may move them out after one week if you want. — I found this rule to be a nightmare in practice.. most of the time, I couldn’t get the family to move in because there’s not enough room in the household and I don’t play with mods… so I changed this to: Another Casanova (female, this time) moves in. Instructions same as above except the sim you make is a female and moved in with any eligible male in town. (which means even elders count, because she’s having the baby, not him).
4 A family asks if they may move into your colony. Create four sims in CAS and move them into your colony. (I took out the “you decide” .. why wouldn’t you want more sims?!)
5 Fire! One of your community buildings has burnt (pick randomly). You may rebuild it using your money if you want to, but it will cost 5000 simoleons. If you don’t want to rebuild it, bulldoze it.
6 One of your current heir’s children feels that they cannot bear the responsibility of building a colony. That child isn’t allowed to become an heir. Select the child randomly. (If your heir doesn’t have children, nothing happens.)
7 The autumn festival makes people romantic. Add a new baby to a random female in your colony (Manage Worlds -> Household Management -> Edit sims in CAS).
8 Your Mister Casanova is at it again! This time a female sim from another household gets pregnant. Pick the female sim randomly. Instructions: Create the casanova in CAS (if you haven’t already), move him into the female sim’s house and add a baby to that family in Household Management.
9 Problems with the building permit office. If you can raise your Logic skill by two points (unless it’s maxed already, in which case you succeed automatically) in the next 24 hours, you’ll be able to convince them that your requests are rational and nothing happens. If you can’t raise your Logic by two points, you may not build anything before next Sunday.
10 Another family asks if they may move into your colony. Create four sims in CAS and move them into your colony. (I took out the “you decide” .. why wouldn’t you want more sims?!)
11 Oil has been found in your colony. Use the cheat Motherlode or some other money cheat to add 50000 simoleons to your family funds.
12 One family decides they wants out and sells their home and moves away. This is figured out by a roll of all non-related families. (If you’ve married in sims from a family, that exempts them from this roll. Family in the area means they aren’t likely to leave the area.) Leave their home as-is and evict them, then delete them from your household list. Feel free to save them to your library in case you want to use them later for something else, or have them move back in on an appropriately numbered add family roll. (obviously, this means that families with more than 6 sims won’t be able to move back in).
I added three more events in the third generation:
13 Add baby to a MALE sim in a household. Just for something different.
14 Another family asks if they may move into your colony. Create four sims in CAS and move them into your colony. (I took out the “your decide” .. why wouldn’t you want more sims?!)
15 The second female Casanova to round out the total Same instructions as above.
16 Add baby to a MALE sim in a household.
Main Apartment Switch Rules | Switch Four Rules
Switch Four Part 1 < | > Switch Five Part 1
Welcome back to the Ritchies’ trip through Switch Four. I left you hanging on an empty lot. As you can see, that’s no longer the case. Because I had quite a lot saved up, and moving in only costs 9k, I had some 67k to spend building a shell and picking out some starter furniture. As I mentioned, as soon as I saw the blank lot my mind achieved the same state.. blank. Being that this is a downtown house, I wanted a modern look to it.. and I can only think of one even close to modern house I’ve built in all of my sims career. Not a style I gravitate towards.. so I googled images of modern homes.. picked one I thought I might be able to duplicate.. and started building. A lot of trial and error later, we finished on the above house. Yes, I even did some minor landscaping because matching that was a key part of matching the photo. Being that I don’t want to mess with photo permissions and all that, I’m not showing the photo, but it’s pretty close. Partitioning the inside out into rooms.. was interesting.. and I ended up with a large portion of the downstairs that I had no idea what to do with. I think I’ll end up putting a pool there. Mostly, I went with an open plan. The wall configuration is also subject to change.. but here’s what I have so far:

As you can see, the downstairs is pretty bare. I also had to scale the left side of the house out from the inspiration picture, simply because there just wasn’t enough room for bedrooms and the hall with it scaled like the photo. I like it so far.. we’ll see how it goes, though. As-is it’s looking like a 2 bedroom 2 bath with a very open plan and a pool downstairs. I just have the very basics in for now, I’ll furnish as the heir, Devin, grows up.

Devin always seems to be angry for one reason or another. Spare me the woes of an overly independent toddler! LOL

A masterpiece..

And Tricia completes her fifth aspiration.

I always have to laugh when they come home in weird outfits from a work promotion.

Devin, being independent as usual.. wanted to get his own lunch.

Live streaming for more followers.

Happy birthday, Tricia!

.. And Happy birthday to Devin, too!

He’s so proud to be a kid, now.

He’s got a best friend for his social aspiration, now.

And I forgot someone’s birthday. Sorry, Tracy.

Lots of work….

… But it’s worth it…

… Because now he’s got a long life ahead of him.

Poor little Devin. I worked him so hard.

… Getting to this aspiration.

I’m busy trying to get Tricia angry for one of her work at home tasks.. and the person she invited over died from being too angry without Tricia even getting the slightest bit angry. Sigh. That task took forever.

… Busy working on the physical aspiration for Devin.

Coming home from work one day gives Tricia enough money to get this aspiration complete.

I have them working on physical tasks to take up time. There’s only so much I can do getting Tricia ready for work. She doesn’t work that often, so it’s taking a long time to get her her promotions.

A dark photo, but one that signifies…

.. Devin getting his second aspiration. Two more to go.

..Working on the next aspiration…

… still working. At least this house has a nice view being right on the water.

I bought some wellness items for something for something for them to do. It keeps them out of trouble.

And the final picture of Devin playing chess..

… Because he finished his third aspiration!

Tricia taking care of her family..

.. And getting a maxed skill at the same time.

… Just barely in the nick of time…

… he got the fourth aspiration.

.. And it’s birthday time.

Never tried the friend of the world aspiration.. so I figure it gives me something to do other than the next Switch.

.. And he grew up cute! Yay!

Dark photo.. but..

he’s now max in his career! Way to go, Tracy!

This is me giving Tricia something else to do…

.. And another maxed skill!

Yay for birthday!

.. She’s growing old gracefully.

Another weird outfit?

… Finally got her career goal complete. For some reason, I found this side of the Social Media career much much harder to max, but at least I got it done.

Another birthday… Tracy is now an elder. (Don’t mind the dirty counter..)

Devin is making his own birthday cake. Over the last few days, I did some work on his aspiration, but mostly just wasted time getting to his birthday.

…. And time’s up!

Doesn’t he look proud of himself?
And now.. Tricia’s final stats:

… Nice… five maxed skills.

.. And just barely in time.

I didn’t really push for money, because they didn’t really need it, but here’s what they had at the end. And a quick house tour:

Goal(s) complete! See you in Switch Five!

First we check on our heir:

Since we already have a boyfriend.. we need to earn some money fairly quickly so he has a bed for him and we can move him in.

Turns out that missing trait is active. Definitely still an okay trait mix. Since he’s a key holder, he spends a lot of time over at our apartment, so we have plenty of social time before we can move him in. My first priority was getting a computer.. then a bed and bathroom so we can move Tracy in. With the posters, and the song she licensed right away, it doesn’t take too long.

I was able to afford the basics.. but lights were going to take a while more. Also note that Tricia is sick and “wearing” stripes.

Making out for a whim..

.. Then proposing.. it’s a yes! Hooray!

I finally am able to afford lights. Pretty sparse apartment so far, huh? At least they have the basics.

Romance Festival comes around, and I switch her back to the City Native aspiration to get the “kiss someone at the romance festival” checked off as well as harvesting the flowers that are always there.. they’re good to sell.
Most of my time is spent either fixing things from the gremlins or feverishly working to earn followers so she can get some promotions. It’s hard to get them initially and takes a lot of spamming computer actions. Tracy has a job in the Athletic career, but I still haven’t decided whether to leave him in it or switch him to painting. Depends on how things go in the next apartment, I guess. With the income from her licensed lyric, posters, and job promotions, I manage to scrape enough to build in the apartment and furnish it to value. I apparently was so busy trying to earn money and followers that I didn’t get around to taking many pictures. So here’s their crappy apartment pics:

Just enough to make it through. I didn’t buy a workout machine because of the basketball hoop outside. For the next apartment I’ll need to buy one for Tracy, though.

Only level 5, but she’s close to a promotion, so it won’t take long to get to 6. Here’s what I was able to afford in apartment two:

Not much! But at least the basics.
It’s at about this time that I notice Tracy is one of those bugged immortal sims. I try out the traits.remove_trait on the three traits that he could have: isWeirdo, isCityRepair, or isStatueBusker. The statue busker one fixes him and I have to cheer. First time I’ve been able to fix one of these sims. He’s now seven days behind her on aging.. but at least he’s aging.

A semi dark breakfast in their new apartment.. if you can call it that.. since there’s no walls yet.

Since she’s set on the next promotion, I buy her an easel to earn a little money on her days off. Since she’s already at level 5 painting skill from murals as a teenager, it makes money pretty quickly.

Tracy talking to himself in the mirror for a promotion. He needs Charisma. By this point, I’ve figured I might as well keep him in the job he’s in instead of changing.

Working out at the gym for his aspiration (I changed it from Friend of the World – there’s no way I’m working on that while trying to do this challenge, too!)
I finally am able to afford walls and paint and flooring.. so here’s what we’ve got so far:

I will probably convert the workout room/study/studio to a living room before moving out.

More painting. I’d like them to move on pretty quickly. At least, it would be nice. I’m worried about the haunted trait bringing more broken appliances. I take photos as I finish rooms this time around.. so here’s the kitchen and the kid’s room:

We’re moving out in the morning.. and we get our first ghost.

She’s mean to them, but thankfully doesn’t break anything that I’ll have to fix before moving (I like to have the apartments in clean, working order when I leave. Here’s the bedroom (not trying for baby.. just happened to be getting their fun up before bedtime while taking pictures) and the living room (converted from the workout room) and bathroom:

And finally, the layout picture:

That was fast.

She’s at level 6 now! And here’s what we were able to afford in the next apartment. Based on size alone we’ll probably be here for a while, and the kid(s) will likely be born here. It’s a huge place!

Several days later, I’ve gotten the framework of the apartment done and even painted walls and floors.. and it’s mostly furnished.. so I take the plunge.

What plunge? That baby one. 🙂

Successful on the first try!

No ghosts, but things still break. Sigh.

I remember to take a picture on the way back from the museum for her aspiration.

Welcome baby boy Devin! I was sorta hoping for twins, but a single is just fine. I can always have another if I feel like it later.

Such a great place to paint from.. and you choose to paint THAT.

At least you’re done skilling the painting now. More masterpieces to come!

And that’s what I was waiting for before moving. Devin grew up adorable. But then, toddlers are always adorable. Cue apartment spam:

And because I forgot to get the layout shot I had to go back in game:

I like the way it turned out.

Just about to get out of level seven…. And this is what I move into:

Hooray? I immediately draw a complete blank. So here’s where I leave you for part 1. I’ll post the rest of testing after I’m back from vacation (April 1st).

Switch Three Part 3 < | > Switch Four Part 2
Main Apartment Switch Rules | Switch Four Rules
Switch Three Part 3 < | > Switch Four Part 2
Welcome back to the Nashes. First off.. let’s meet our heir. I took him on a trip through CAS because I hated his clothes.

That being hungry makes the first day rather interesting..

And back to zero funds! With that.. we’re ready to go!

He looks awful happy to be able to buy food. Luckily the posters were already spawned, and we were able to get those and the snow globes.

We also meet a couple of eligible females…

…but I figured let’s check out ones we knew from when we were a kid. I really like Bridgette, here.. and she’s got good traits.

Seriously, she’s adorable. Then I remember the teen I almost got Jaiden together with and her very expressive face, and I invite her over next.

Turns out Ainsley aged up into the “unflirty” trait.. not exactly high on my list of desirable traits.

After spending the rest of the evening at the library raising up our writing skill and getting some followers on his brand new social media account.. he comes home to crash on the only furniture in his apartment. A decent bed. Not great .. just decent.

Bright and early the next morning, luckily the food stall is open .. and we order the next meal he hasn’t learned yet.

…Turns out it’s a bit more than Jaiden bargained for.

After work he needs fun, and I figure basketball for a fit sim like him… so he goes and tosses a few balls at the hoop.

… I had no idea that was a thing. OMG… I laughed so hard I nearly cried. (and yes, I am easily amused by my sims!)

Giving up on the basketball thing (fun is WAY too slow on that!) I send him back to the library, and this time remember to take a picture. Turns out some reading club is there monopolizing the books.. good thing I don’t need books. Just this handy dandy computer… I get him enough skill points and followers to be primed for a promotion the next day.. because we seriously could use the money.

Point in fact… we’re showering at the gym because we can’t afford a shower.

I decide to take the plunge with Bridgette. They seem to have quite a spark between them, because it was crazy easy to get the romance going.

Bridgette is at work…. and look.. we can’t afford a shower, but we do have a computer.. and our first dirty dish.

The romance festival just happens to be this evening, so while waiting for her to get home from work, we ask the guru what she thinks about the match.

Ha! Nice! I’ve only gotten negative responses before this. .. With this knowledge and Bridgette finally home from work… I have Jaiden pop the question.

They’re so happy! It’s just too cute. Since there’s that handy arch right there… we have a heat of the moment wedding and get to watch fireworks.

And with that.. I can officially introduce Bridgette. They’ve actually known each other since they were kids.. they just never got to be friends until they were adults.

Fun fact: she moved in with her $1 homework from grade school still in her pocket.

The next day before work I send her out poster hunting.. and spend that $1 on the fountain.. hey it made her happy!

And I find out what the catch is with this apartment. When the Gremlins attack.. they break EVERYTHING. Not just random things.. no.. EVERY SINGLE THING that can be broke, is broken. She gets through fixing the bathroom fixtures we’ve finally just been able to afford (and are already broken).. and I send her to fix the oven. So far so good….

ZZZZT! .. guess the fridge and the computer are just going to stay broken for a while because we can’t afford to pay a repairman. Finally, after Jaiden gets home from work, they can afford a repairman.. who doesn’t show up, but the game says he did… nothing is fixed but I get charged anyway. ARGH.
I send them to bed… buy a second computer with his daily wages (he got a promotion, too)… and settle in to wait for morning. And…the Gremlins hit again. Two nights in a row. What the heck, game?!
So I’m watching them sleep after the Gremlins hit.. and a repairman just shows up randomly and start fixing stuff.. when I don’t really have the money to pay him. I swear I totally didn’t call him, he just showed up. He fixed everything, left with a nasty note about his missing $23 and that was that.

Hurry up and make money so the Gremlins don’t have time to come again!
… I end up getting enough money by hurrying them through money making stuffs (mostly work/promotions/posters.. and a keyboard Jaiden found in a snow globe box that was worth $900..? Didn’t know that was a thing!).. and I get them out of there before anymore mayhem happens.
Cue apartment spam. I like how it turned out.

Although looking back I should have updated the bedroom and bathroom walls.

Level 6 already! And this is what we’re able to afford in the next place.

With these walls so dark it’s hard to see, though… I might have to change those walls.

Our first ghost. Angry.. but somehow breaks nothing.

I hate needing charisma for his job. Such a useless skill, imo.

Now programming.. that’s useful. It even makes some decent money with hacking once you get high enough level in it.

The next ghost was not so kind…

.. so , since they’re still up, I send Bridgette over to fix it. Note that the shower behind her is floating.. it’s about to be broken too.

… Thanks, ghostie.

Ghost number 3 is again harmless. Another while of writing/programming/working… and I’m able to move them. I have a few snags while finishing the apartment, however, as I have to delete some counters in the kitchen to get back within value.

Those counters on the left get cut back due to funding, so this screenshot isn’t 100% accurate, I just forgot to take another one.

Still level 6.. but he’ll be level 7 by the next day, so that’s okay. Here’s what I was able to afford in the next apartment:

I.E. Not much. Had almost 10k but always needing two computers is a bit of a headache. Just about everything purchased will eventually need replacing to make value. Also note in the above photo I got rid of the third bedroom and turned it into two offices by taking a little space from the second bathroom. Being that this post is already pretty long, I’ll save the rest of apartment three for the next post! I’ll post the rest of testing after I’m back from vacation (April 1st).
Main Apartment Switch Rules | Switch Four Rules
Switch Three Part 3 < | > Switch Four Part 2
I’ve been feverishly testing the Apartment Switch – Switch Four so it can release on Sunday like I had scheduled. I also have a week long vacation that we leave for tomorrow morning right after I post the Switch.. so it’s been a hectic week. I haven’t had the time or energy to do anything other than getting ready for the trip or testing. I will be back to posting regularly April 2nd. I do have two posts scheduled for while I’m gone, the beginnings of the testing, but I didn’t have time to write up the rest of testing, so those will post after I get home and have time to breathe and go through the pile of screenshots and notes.
House 007 Part 1 Day 9 < | >
First thing.. we check on the goals for this part of house 007:
House 007 Part 2 Building Goals:
Have a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom (minimum) house worth at least 40k
House 007 Part 2 Generational Goals:
Complete the Soulmate Aspiration
Have a Young Adult heir
Second, we have some set up to do:

They’re now back in their house…

And the options are set to aging again.
Third, let’s check on our Playable/Main sim – Ariana:

And we’re ready to go. Being that we start right after the party in part 1.. it’s 9:30 pm and both of them are feeling pretty good. That’s not going to last forever.

I have them become best friends.. but I hold off on the wedding.. because, for a change, I’d like to give my sims a real wedding… I think. We’ll see how long that resolve lasts. (it lasts)
The very first day takes forever. There’s nothing to harvest, and no money for anything.. so I spend the day inviting over the Part 1 contestants and telling them Ariana wants to “just be friends”.. that way it’s not awkward later on. At least, I hope that’s how it works out.

What are these filthy sims so happy about?

Finally having a bed to woohoo in! (And yes, I actually took a picture of a non-try-for-baby-woohoo.. but that bed was a major milestone in drifter land.. lol)

Gardening together. At this point, I just had whatever planted that I’d found, not the best (for money making) ones.

Two things.. finally having enough crysanthemums to plant… and WOOT! Shower, toilet, and sink! We’re living the high life now!

See? .. For some reason, the beginning of this house really seems to be moving in slow motion.

More family gardening…

Hark! A house! .. Sorta.

..Okay, that’s a little better. At least it looks like a house now.

… And it begins. Yay for handiness skill!

The part I hate of gardening.. the interminable evolving.

We have a little nest egg saved up.. it’s time for their wedding!

Aww.. they’re so cute!

The guests are mostly milling about .. for some reason they don’t like the chairs I set out. Oh well. Pooh on them. (If you’re looking carefully at this pic.. there’s two things I’d like to point out. One, the cake is already ready (Ariana made one, not the caterer).. and that most the guests are past house members during the contest. Remember? I told them I didn’t want to be romantic anymore.

Such a pretty place for a wedding.

<cheers>!!! Time for cake.

… She looks so excited, right? (not)

Aww… and they didn’t even smear it over each other’s faces. I always thought that was the best part of weddings.

Notice Vincent lurking? Apparently this made him upset.. and Sean, too. Clearly they were hoping she was kidding about the “just be friends” thing.

Vincent being a creeper again. Oh and see this mixologist? I had to hire him separately, the first one I hired with the party never showed up. Waste of money!

.. Vincent is still creeping. But the wedded couple is so cute! (And yay for fancy flaming drink!)

Cousin Cole is clapping because they’re kissing? Not really, but it looks like he wants to!
Then my camera is rudely zoomed away…..

Oh no… not Kelsie!

Everyone (except Trent if you look closely.. he was napping on a bench by this point of the party) has to come watch.

And they stay to mourn for Kelsie.. who they’ve probably never met. Where’d Grim go?

Drinking. Seems fitting.

… Here’s when I noticed.. Grim leaves puddles like the ghosts do. Too funny.. and they’re completely black, too.

Even the entertainment and mixologist and caterer (useless caterer..) are over there mourning.

Finally.. everyone’s back to work. See that caterer in the background?? She’s just NOW making a cake. Fail.

A perfect wedding.. despite Kelsie. My first one!

Back to gardening and saving money.

I was so annoyed at her having this two day sadness I had her take a moodlet solver. Trent (because he was sleeping, I guess) didn’t get the moodlet, so he felt just fine! I had to make the sad go away!

Time for the first date as a married couple.. we send them off to the diner. And .. wouldn’t you know it..

… but they have admirers. Sigh. I finally use the “go away” mean moodlet so they can stop making the conversation awkward. We’re TRYING to have a DATE here, dudes.

Awww.

.. Per her wishes!

.. Nice moodlet!

Early one morning the two of them find their new toys. An easel for Ariana (I got tired of her having nothing to do but stand around when she’s done collecting and gardening.. but I didn’t want to have her gone for a job.) .. and a handiness bench for Trent. Don’t know whether I can sell what it makes, but it’ll at least give him something to DO rather than go nap on a bench. Oh, and by this point, I’d bought them a better bed, in the hopes that he’d forsake his bench. (he did.. eventually)

Wonder if he remembers what those roses meant in Part 1? I sure do!

Second date.. sent them to Ice 9 (the club I built in house 6)..

.. So the lot traits are helping the conversation.

Vincent is there again.. but at least this time he’s ignoring them instead of creeping.

After the date goals are over, I have them dance for a while.. then send them home.
Another couple days of saving money.. and I had around 7.5 k.. garden is now making 2.5k+ per harvest, and it’ll only get better.. so I figured I’m pretty much set on getting funds .. and I’m far enough along in the aspiration… so..

Yep! Trying for baby! I’m going to leave you here.. make you wonder if they’re preggo or not.
Oh, and why am I saving up? Because I built a shell I want to just plop down on the lot for them soon as they can afford it. (It’s about 25k) .. and this is what it looks like. I had a heck of a time trying to figure out what I was going to do with this house, I really had no ideas.. so I did a google search for colonial houses, and picked the picture of one that I liked the best. I got pretty close to what it looked like, too.

See you next time for the baby(ies?)!! – I did buy her the fertile trait!
House 007 Part 1 Day 9 < | >
House 007 Part 1 – Day 8 < | > House 007 Part 2 Chapter 1
Today’s goals:
House 007 Part One Day 9:
2PM: Schedule a party on the home lot
When party ends: Evict the contestant with the lowest relationship
score then offer the final contestant a rose, ask to be boyfriend,
then propose to them.
When this is done: Pause game play and move to part 2 of house 007
Again, we’re to follow Ariana’s whims. I’m happy to say this is the last day of Part 1. Now we just have to get a winner. The two contestants are completely tied up at this point, so it’ll be interesting to see how the day plays out.

We start out the day with more ghost watching.

Ever feel really creeped out when you wake up? … Crying Taylor decides this is the bed to cry in…

I laughed really hard when I realized Taylor’s watching the Sims of the Dead zombie movie. Too funny.
Vincent is first up with some pressing business for the bathroom – then he heads for breakfast.

Aww.. Taylor.. you broke it.. what are you still doing out at 6:20 in the morning!?

Breakfast with a ghost?

Then Taylor finally leaves at 7 AM.
Trent gets up about 7:30, and I simultaneously notice that the stereo is broken. Fixed! Both contestants seem to be in a good mood – both are inspired. .. Wait.. there’s a broken shower, too. Sigh. Well we know what Taylor was up to all night.

By the time Ariana gets up, the two boys are having a conversation in the kitchen. On opposite ends of the island.. nice, guys.

While Ariana eats, Trent comes up with a big hug for her.

And Vincent’s watching Roaring Vice… he must like that movie, because I know he’s already seen it!

Her romantic trait makes her flirty .. and she wants to be funny with Vincent and do something romantic. A dirty joke works for both.. then she wants to kiss someone, kiss Vincent, and woohoo with someone.

Trent is.. walking around in the gym.

Make out with Vincent and Hug someone. By this time her “flirty” mood changes to “very flirty” and “woohoo someone” turns into “hot tub woohoo” .. isn’t that where we had all those problems already?? Well.. we queue it up. Hopefully this works out!

Trent is standing just on the other side of the wall, making me nervous. Then he finally decides to go watch the big screen.

At least this time the woohoo was great.. and they didn’t get caught. (Still an hour and a half until party time.. and Ariana seems to have run out of wishes. She wants to take a cold shower, watch romantic TV.. and buy a toy. We nix the toy buying and “be friendly with Vincent” pops up. We fulfill that.. and “woohoo with Vincent” is next. Really? we just did that?!

Well, I send them off to take care of that whim, watching carefully.. as Trent goes back in to watch another movie. He’s obsessed. With the two of them flirty and he just happy.. this is going to be one interesting party. I fear it could go south rather quickly.. but how is the question. After the woohoo, she wants to compliment Vincent, then “get to know” him. Sweetie, I think you know him well enough already!

Anyway.. it’s party time.. I choose a black and white bash. Haven’t done more than one or two of these, and never been too successful at it, so that should be interesting. I thought a formal party would be fun for the end of this, though.. so here goes nothing!

First thing we do is have two sims play chess.. and she wants to flirt with Vincent. And Trent walks in on them… making it an awkward encounter.

There’s a goal to make Zebra Fizzes so I go order some of those.. and find out the Mixologist is Kelsie! Aww.. that’s awesome. Then Vincent takes a negative hit in the relationship department when Trent autonomously blows her a kiss.

And again. Poor Vincent. I knew somethings like this was going to happen, I just figured it would be Trent that took the hits.

Turns out.. Trent is sick, too. And is striped like a Zebra.. so does that count as black and white? LOL. The only thing I don’t manage to get for the party goals is “make shrimp cocktail” .. the caterer seems to be missing.. and there’s no way Ariana can make that. So we go without. It’ll still be a silver party. Vincent has to go to the bathroom, so he leaves Trent and Ariana alone in the dining room for a bit. I find it funny that she’s still wishing for Vincent through all this.. now she wants to “flirt with Vincent”. I’m not sure he’s up for that, sweetie. But I’ll try when he’s done in the bathroom!

Aha.. found the caterer. Not doing her job, of course.

I flirt with Vincent.. and Trent sees. So Trent takes a hit, too. And the whims dry up.

Caterer still not doing her job. She didn’t cook a single thing for the entire party. Why did I hire her?

All she wants is to not be sick using tea. So I go make her a cup of tea.

Trent is now sad, too… so romance with him might be rather difficult.

Then she wants to cloudgaze with Vincent. Okay then. It’s not going to repair the relationship, though.
.. And then I notice that the party ended. Time for scoring.

It’s obvious just by looking at the relationship panel who won. And it’s totally NOT who I expected!!

After kicking out Vincent (who leaves past a half-dead garden… sorry, plants, it was a weekend and I couldn’t take care of you!!)

I get the two of them “in the mood” with a couple of flirts… and…

I offer the final rose to Trent, who accepts.. he looks so happy! She rolls an “embrace Vincent” which I nix.. and then.. I can’t believe it.. but she starts rolling wants for Trent! She wants to woohoo with him and chat with him. Locking those in, I quickly finish out this part of the house.

Ask for boyfriend.. accepted.

Propose (I am so not sure this will work)…

…it’s a yes!
And that.. my friend, ends Part 1 of House 007.. see you in part 2!
House 007 Part 1 – Day 8 < | > House 007 Part 2 Chapter 1
Main Apartment Switch Rules | Switch Three Rules
Switch Three Part 2 < | > Switch Four Part 1
Welcome back to the Ritchies’ attempt at Switch Three!

Both girls come home with A’s .. yay!

Which gives Brenna her aspiration.

Picture of stressed mom…

… Because she’s finally at level 10! Hooray, goal completed!

Didn’t know you could make a rack of lamb in sims… now I do, and it looks delicious.

I’m not sure when she got this.. so I’m adding it in here.. I think it was sometime around here, but I could definitely be wrong.

Happy Birthday Zayne! (Despite the fact that he looks like he’s got a duck face.)

At least he’s resigned to getting older!

Brenna works on her homework while Tricia works on her motor skill for the aspiration.

Done!

Mom working off a few extra pounds while Brenna eats dinner.

Playing a very buggy game of darts.. neither would stay playing for very long. I gave up.

They played topple the llama instead. And had a great time!

Working on that logic skill!

Getting the potions needed for the aspiration.

Another Aspiration complete!

Watching TV with Dad. I put some of the trains out in this room, with a thought that maybe Zayne likes model trains. A silly notion, but I kept the trains.

More homework.

Brenna getting her monkey bar crossings, while Tricia takes some time to play.

Good job Brenna!

That masterpiece was the last one needed..

Well done, Zayne!
As for the girls, Brenna got three aspirations done, and Tricia got all four. My second sim to do that.. both while testing Switch Three.

Please age up well….

Oh my gosh.. I love her. She’s absolutely perfect.

Brenna’s turn.

Awkward, skinny, and geeky. Sorta glad she’s not the heir!

Playing chess for logic points. I gave her the City Native aspiration, but at this point I hadn’t decided to actively pursue it… so I was just getting skill points for her school grade.

Brenna got the bodybuilder aspiration, so I send the two of them to the gym for her workout session.

Ordering food for City Native. Apparently she doesn’t seem to mind spicy food too much!

We spend some time going through her childhood friends, looking for a possible future husband material. No such luck with this one. So we start looking at the ones who haven’t aged to teen yet. (Nothing in the rules prevents me from aging up townies to match her age!)

This one goes first.. Tevin is his name.

Selfie pics.

And chatting. I’m not sure I like his traits though.. so we try another one.

This is Hayden. He’s an adorable child…

And a slightly awkward teen. We quickly nix that idea.

Breakfast!

And homework. Yuck.

Brenna working out at home.

Tricia still working on logic because I’m bored. (LOL)

Then we go out meeting walker-by teens. This one is angry and we give up on him pretty quickly.

So we give a key to the best candidate we have so far. Plus, it fulfills her aspiration.

Dad filling the fridge and leveling his two cooking skills. He’s so close to having the skills needed to pass level 9 of his Chef career.. I just don’t know if he has the time.

Cookies! Everybody likes cookies.

This alerts me to another aspiration being finished..

By Alex coming home from work.

Well done! So that’s where all the money’s been coming from.

Setting off fireworks at the humor and hijinks festival.

A painting I’ve never seen.. it’s kinda interesting.

Ooops.. Sorry Alex. See that cake she’s baking? It was supposed to be her birthday cake, but apparently I was too late and she spun up all by herself.

Awww.. poor Zayne. No mastering the cook career for him.

I just thought it funny that Brenna and Grimm are standing in the same position.
Zayne’s final stats:

Level nine.. and ready to level with some more performance.

Tricia working on her Art center mural.

Grim is apparently into art, too?

Hi again Zayne!

We finally find a great potential mate.. one of Brenna’s friends from school. His name is Tracy, and I love his genetics. His traits are so-so (good and clumsy), but there’s definite sparks between the two of them.

See?

They look so cute together, too.

Brenna and Alex having a chat.

Might as well learn to cook now… you’ll be using it enough later in life.

Oops.. cut your finger there, huh? Hehe. Learning cooking stinks.

My first time having sims messing around in the closet.

Too cute.

Can you tell I like these two as a pair? I apparently took a ton of photos .. lol.

And that’s the other thing Tricia’s been doing other than spending time with her boyfriend….

Leveling Singing. She even has two choices of song to license for funds at the beginning of next Switch.
… And… It’s TIME!

Brenna goes first..

Then Tracy… then Tricia.

Happy birthday for everyone!
And final stats for the house: (Tricia’s will be shown at the beginning of next Switch, so I’ll leave them out here.)

She was certainly busy!

Goal complete..

Still lots of points left over…

Brenna’s stats

.. and points.

Since I forgot to get a shot of their family funds, here is what they’ve got.
Finally, some house shots. I didn’t take shots of some rooms because they’re small and tough to get shots of.

House value is above what it needs to be…. and that’s all she wrote. We’ll see you after Switch Four posts on 3/26!
Main Apartment Switch Rules | Switch Three Rules
Switch Three Part 2 < | > Switch Four Part 1
House 007 Part 1 – Day 7 < | > House 007 Part 1 Day 9
Today’s goals:
House 007 Part One Day 8:
6PM: The last contestant leaves to go on a scored date with the
main sim to any available travel location.
When date ends: Offer a rose to the contestant that attended and
return home
11PM: Evict the contestant with the lowest relationship score
12AM: Bedtime
Again, we’re to follow Ariana’s whims…. and today’s date is for Vincent, so she should be happy about that. Today is also the last date before tomorrow’s final party. (in other words, we’re almost done!)
Before we do anything else, we have a bit of ghost-watching to do:

Talking to the plants.. they’ve probably felt really neglected.

… And again with the teapot. Silly ghostie.

Vincent is first awake and he heads straight for breakfast. Sean is up right after him and follows suit.

Trent is last but not least, and is in a far better mood today, it seems. We’ll have to wait to see if that lasts. Oh, wait! Trent feels dizzy.. the poor guy is sick.

While Ariana gets her morning shower, the boys chat, dance, and watch TV.. not necessarily in that order. Then, it’s breakfast time for her.

Trent sure loves those fishies.

Ariana wants to compliment someone and then hug.. and tell a joke. Sorta plain jane whims there.. but that’s probably a good idea in this house. (Things are pretty volatile with the relationships up so high.. one wrong move could easily tip the scales.)

Another hug, while Vincent plays games..

..and Trent is again watching a movie in the theater.

After some chatting, she rolls a whim to “get flirty” .. so I send her and Vincent (who she was already chatting to) outside to talk. Hopefully the other two are too busy to get involved!

They quickly get flirty (Vincent first, then Ariana) and she immediately rolls a whim to woohoo with him. Already? .. Okay then.
Then she wants to be funny to him. Can do! Then she keeps wanting to donate to charity. Boring. LOL.. and she wants a cold shower? Who wants that?! She’s so weird sometimes.

How about this one… watch romance TV. Can do that one… which starts up a conversation with Trent and Sean. I try to keep cancelling the autonomous romantic socials that keep popping up.. but I’m sure I’m going to miss one and there’s going to be heck to pay if I do… So far so good. We let her take a potty break before the date.. but I have a feeling getting Vincent alone to ask him is going to be tough.

Then, inexplicably, the other two leave Vincent alone in the family room. Score! Bonus..

…she wants to make out with him. Okay then.
What are the other two doing? Well, Sean is watching the cooking show on the big screen.. he has watched so much of it he’s now level 2 of cooking. Silly guy. Trent is.. heading to chat with Sean. Good, they’re both occupied.
Time to ask for the date.. and it seems Vincent is complaining of a fever. LOL Too bad, it’s your turn now! As I had planned earlier, I’m sending them to the Von Haunt Estate.. another place I haven’t really been to.

They need to sit and chat.. and looks like the closest place to do that is in the maze.. so I do some chatting, then head for the maze.

Vincent apparently knows a shortcut, because he has to wait on Ariana for a while.

She wants to “Get to know” Vincent. With both bars completely full, you would think she already knows enough! We oblige her anyway.. and then she needs to do joking and deep conversations for the date.. those done, she rolls whims for hugging someone and woohooing in a bush.. and just woohoo in general. Guess she knows what she wants! (She’s also nauseous from being sick, apparently. Poor thing.)

Birdies fly out of the bush when you climb in.. I never noticed that before!

Hug for whim time… She’s already on a date and she rolls “schedule a date” right after the hug. She’s clearly confused. Cue date spam..

Then she’s all “embrace Vincent,” “Make out with Vincent”, and my favorite “Do something Romantic.” This date is taking forever! She runs out of whims for Vincent and starts hoping to buy toys and schedule another date. Then it’s “ask someone to go steady” .. sorry, no can do, Ariana.

Then, finally, the date is pretty much over so I offer the rose and start working our way out of this crazy maze.

(At least the ghosts didn’t bother us way out here!) Another legendary date!

Scoring.. doesn’t take a rocket scientist.. there’s one clear loser.
Sorry Sean.. 🙁 But the other two are completely tied. Something’s going to have to happen tomorrow to change that or they’ll go into the end tied.. and I don’t know what happens then!
I kick Sean out, sadly… and wonder what will happen tomorrow.

Vincent is.. AGAIN in Ariana’s bed. He clearly thinks he’s won. We make him go to his bed. Bedtime for everyone!

.. Except Taylor.

Bye Sean!
