Meet the Engles | Chapter 2

Well, hi. Here’s where the story starts, I suppose. Peacefully. But not for long! Also, I apologize for there not being more pictures. The household was so hectic, and I was just getting back the groove of playing, so I was often too occupied to remember to screenshot.

Cassiel and Kaitlyn playing .. this is before I managed to herd all of the toddlers upstairs and “lock” them in with a fence.

… And the potty training begins. It seems never-ending at the beginning!

The kids seem to really like the playroom! And as a bonus, they’re so cute together.

…. And here’s where things go horribly wrong. The maid changed the dryer without cleaning the lint filter. POOF. Then, Melanie was so busy routing to save toddlers, I couldn’t get her there to extinguish the maid in time… so.. here’s the result. Sorry Estrella.

… Grim route-fails and ends up in the fire. Good thing he’s immortal.

The fire just goes on and on. Every time I manage to put it out in one room, it’s spread to another. And now the kids are hungry… and the fridge is ash.

Grim… blithely doing his job while the fire rages on. I keep trying to put it out with Melanie, but SHE ends up on fire and has to put herself out… and I’m unwilling to lose her, too.

Finally, Grim sees the job done.

.. Just barely in time so the social worker isn’t called. This is the stampede we’re left with as the kids run for the food.

For a little bit of income, we advertised for a room-mate, and Paka’A Hua showed up. Strangely, he/she has the same hairstyle as Melanie. Which I found hilarious.

A spare moment to “herself” to talk to Thimble before passing out from another long day of toddler care.

… And this is how I’m keeping everyone fed. Caterers. Thank goodness for Mila Munch!

Wait.. now Melanie’s cooking..?

.. Because it’s THAT time! Emely goes first.. and she doesn’t look happy about it.

Cassiel, trying to get her needs up before it’s her turn for cake. This is also to show that, to let the toddlers downstairs for cake, I had to delete the fencing.

Room-mate is cleaning up. Which is awesome, and definitely needed.

Aww.. Melanie. It’s not THAT bad, is it?? (Yes. Yes it is. LOL)

Kaitlyn’s sad about turning into a child.

…. But skill day cheers her right up. And she’s GORGEOUS!

Love the fact the other kids are all working on homework or skills.

.. She’s adorable. And looks like she’ll have a cat familiar when she grows up!

Since we have no more toddlers, I remodel the toddler bedroom into the master bedroom (so the downstairs one can be used for another room-mate.)

I like the way it turned out.

Colby ages up next, but I didn’t get a shot until afterwards. Maybe he’s gloomy because he’s “just” a human.

Paka’A is trying out the hot tub and the bar, I see.

Now that the kids are all “child” stage, Melanie can actually settle down to parenting and cooking for them.

Meet the Engles | Chapter 2

**ON HIATUS**

So, I’m completely crazy.. and I’m trying out a concept that worked in Sims 3, but I have no idea if it’ll work in Sims 4. A Backwards ISBI. A What? .. Let me explain. (This is based entirely on the Sims 3 rules for a Backwards ISBI, with some changes by me to allow for the way the Sims 4 works.)

The Premise:

This is a seven generation challenge. In the I’m Surrounded By Idiots (ISBI) rules, you may only control the torch holder (TH). It is as the ISBI challenge except; Generation 1 (founder) must be created as an Elder. He must be male because female elders can not have children. He must find and woo a partner, have two children, and live until one is an Adult. Generation 2 takes over as TH on their Adult birthday. This means there is a good chance they have bad traits and/or little to no satisfaction points to spend on reward traits. This also means they have little time for the wooing process, though more than the first gen. They must live until one of their children is a Young Adult. Generation 3 takes over as TH on their Young Adult birthday. This will be standard for most simmers. Think of it as a break. Generation 4 takes over as TH on their Teen birthday. This means that the one essentially running the household has to balance school with it. They get more time to pursue their lives goals however. Generation 5 takes over as TH on their Child birthday. The challenge really starts up again. How will someone who can’t even cook run the household? Generation 6 takes over as TH on their Toddler birthday. You read right. Good luck. This is where the baby monitor will come in handy as it will let you call out for help when you need it. Generation 7 takes over as TH on their infant birthday. Almost the same as generation 6 but it can’t be left out. Once you have hit Elder you have “won”. But there is a bonus point. Try and live until one of the TH’s children reaches Elder. Full Circle!

Whether this is even possible, I don’t know. But I’m going to try to get it to work. Obviously, the regular ISBI rules are all in effect – with one notable exception. You can use as many Youth potions as you need, with not penalty to not “having used satisfaction points”. If this wasn’t changed, the BISBI wouldn’t work at all.

Once I finish this, I will try to post this as a variation for Sims 4 with alternate rules, but first I have to see how the whole thing works…. if it does.
