Breakfast time. Brock is sleeping in.
After-breakfast-activities.
The late sleeper is finally up. And making food … again.
She loves this thing. I keep telling her to work on her motor skill on the computer, and I keep finding her here. Finally had to leave the art project on the table so she wouldn’t gravitate towards the activity table.
Working on Handiness again. I’m still convinced I’m going to get that all channels watched/listened to achievement.
Proposal accepted!
Maren… why do you insist on cooking in the rain?? When there’s tons of food in the fridge!?
She got her promotion, so here she is, hiring her agent. More money, yay!
It’s monday.. so since Angelina’s an orphan now, Aiden is stepping in to play the parent role.
Project done.. and it’s an excellent!
Angelina comes home with an “A”. Hooray!
Umm… guys.. you know it’s raining outside, right??

Dessert! And yes, Ashlie was one of the guests. It was nice to see her again.

Aiden starts upgrading fireproof on all the fireplaces. Just to be safe.
Brock is still cooking….

Cleaning up after the party. It was noteworthy that the maid was actually DOING something instead of swimming.. lol.. so I took a picture.
A formal wedding. Because why not. They’re such a cute couple.

Harvestfest was largely uneventful. Everyone was busy with their own goals.
This made me hungry.. lol. It looks so tasty!

She’s so pretty. Aiden is obviously the ugly duckling of the family.. but I love him anyway.

Maren winding down after a long week.. and I guess Angelina’s “winding up”? Whatever she’s doing, it’s the end of the week.. and we got quite a bit done. Lots of promotions.

Welcome back! This is the first post of a new generation, so I started everything out with moving them out of the city into their own mansion. I waffled a bit about choosing and upgrading an EA house, but in the end, I decided to grab one of the shells I’ve got built and start decorating. It’s FAR from done, but I’ll show off some pictures of it currently as soon as we establish our goal sets.

Now since the rules state any adults working on goal sets (other than the heir) need to be sims created by me, so off I went into CAS. I spent a lot of time dithering over whether Aiden is straight or not. His clothing choices when I ran through CAS just pointed to not. But I wasn’t sure I wanted to go the whole gay/adoption thing. In the end, however, I did make a guy for Aiden. Meet Brock Savage.

Just to give myself something else to do/challenge myself, I also made an extra sim, Maren Brink, who rolled for a set of her own. She will basically be a roommate, and live in the basement apartment.

Here’s some pictures of me attempting to edit Umbrage Manor for them… as I said earlier.. I gave up.
I was going to move the two left hand bedrooms over, add another bedroom upstairs, and make a bigger living room/study on the bottom floor, but I just didn’t like the way it was turning out. So, I spent a while going through some of my bigger builds (especially the ones that are still just shells and haven’t been uploaded) trying to pick the perfect house. I picked one that is HUGE so I can have fun continuing to decorate as the challenge goes.
And here’s the house: (It’s in Willow Creek where Umbrage Manor used to be. I got so mad at the house I just bulldozed it. Luckily, this house fit where it was! Barely, but it did fit…)
Indoor starting out picture spam: (As you can tell, there’s really only the bare minimum in furnishings… I have a LOT of work to do.)
The kids rooms With separate bathrooms.
The Master bedroom suite. Behind the bed will be a walk in closet, to the left of that will be a nursery.
Teenager’s room, and the “mother-in-law” suite, added in instead of an upstairs rec room just so Heidi has a place of her own.
The most decorated rooms in the house so far.. Dining room and Kitchen. The bottom area of the kitchen will be a seating area in front of the fireplace.
The current collections wall. These are the ones I have complete from last generation. Also, partial shot of the living room.
Studio and bar area. The bar and the study (next pic) are the only things I had furnished when I placed this house, hence the Journalism desk that’s in the study.
The above-mentioned study. There will be a desk in the lower left for programming, but it’s blank there at the moment because I moved the Journalism desk to the “inspiration” room/studio.
The basement. The rooms to the top right are the downstairs apartment for Maren, it’s just not really furnished yet. There will be a bowling alley by the pool windows, and there’s a storage area just to the bottom of the picture that’s off-camera. Note that I have the workout area and sauna already placed. Priorities.
Aiden gets his first job. Stylist career here we go!
Sibling love. I will be moving Aiden’s sisters out as soon as they come “of age” so they can explore the world on their own (also, because I can’t use them for adult goal sets per the rules.)

And now.. back to the last two things I need to do to get set up.

Brock gets his job in the Culinary track. And with that, we’re set to go. Finally.
Angelina is making herself right at home already.
Brock starts his day out by working to start filling the fridge for everyone.
Maren gets started on her aspiration with some inspired painting.
By the time I think to send Ashlie out collecting for her aspiration.. she’d already found the sauna. LOL.
It feels weird collecting when the house is this big, but she wants to be a collector.. so off we go.
Heidi playing with Angelina for the aspiration. I’m not pushing to get Angelina’s aspirations done, because I have enough on my plate with the three adults I have working on their goal sets, but when I get a chance, I do at least some of the stuff she needs done.
Being that I have to make the recipes on the outdoor grill with Brock as well as in the kitchen, I elect to decorate the patio/pool/playground area. … and then it promptly starts storming. *facepalm* Oh well, it’ll be there later.
Getting to know each other after some skilling.
This is when I knew I made the right choice for Aiden. He’s super into Brock already.

It’s done. Literally. I have everything done that I can possibly think of doing. With the exception of maxing Ashlie’s drama club, but I haven’t really been working on it, so I don’t know if that will happen. So.. this is a filler week. Mostly just me watching my sims do.. whatever they feel like doing.

I take the whole family out to dinner to celebrate the end of a generation.

Well, here we are again. Very little to do left on goals.. so last time I got Heidi preggo again. I think the only things I have left are a tiny bit on Heidi’s job until her promotion, Three aspirations to finish for Ashlie, and one scouting badge for Aiden. The young scientist one.. and he only needs two programming sessions for that one. So that shouldn’t take long at all.
Aiden getting that programming done .. then he hacked some funds. Not that we need them.

While he’s just walking around the house, I decided I’d see if he’d finished the fortune aspiration.

Fastest way I know of to get her grade up to an “A”. And oh, yeah.. it’s Winterfest.. so she has plenty of time to work on it.
Aiden looks like he did something naughty to the tree. Just out of principle.. I decide not to light it. Just in case.

Yay! One more to go. And two days in which to do it. Just to be safe, I have her call into school for a vacation day.

Well, here we are again. At the end of the main generational goals, but still a way to go. Let’s see how much I can get done in this chapter.
The first thing I do, is take the two kids off to the park to work on social aspiration. It really is my least favorite, and I just want to get it done. Aiden is gathering kids to make friends with for the last tier of the aspiration…
While Ashlie garthers people to meet for the first part of the aspiration.

Aiden still working on friendships.. and now Ashlie is, too. Sigh. Such an annoying aspiration.
The night at the park is over.. and I feel the need to clean up the messes. Thanks, Ashlie.

Practicing typing for his Motor aspiration. The one I hadn’t really worked much on, and now it’s the last one I need. But I don’t have a huge amount of time left until his birthday.. so we’ll really have to push on it.
Homework time. I find Drama club for Ashlie makes getting her aspirations done hard to do, because she has meetings all the time.
Oops. Forgot a monster light. But apparently, Ashlie makes friends with it on her own.
Harvest fest! This week is going by really fast. First try on appeasing the gnome, way to go Heidi.
First try for Brayden and Aiden as well.
Bought a fourth gnome so Ashlie could try.. a pie?
Fail.. Forgive me?
Nope. Guess it’s time to sell those gnomes.
More work on the Motor skill.. and it happens to be raining at Willow Creek Park. Sigh. Go figure.
Getting frogs for both collection purposes and scouting badges.
Never too late in the week to work on school projects.
More motor practice.
Ta-da! An Excellent project.
Then some Mental practice for Ashlie.
… To keep her busy while mom makes Turkey dinner.
I manage for the first time this play-time to get the whole family in the same place at once.
Awww.. poor Aiden.. I guess I’m working him too hard.
A sleep replacer so I can get this done before I run out of time.
.. And an energized potion to make it go faster. Like the animation on this .. can’t say I’ve used it before. 🙂

… Done! That’s all four aspirations!
Now I can focus on Ashlie and some other goals.

Brayden, that’s who! My second ever global celebrity.. and both did it through writing. Not bad.
On the off chance there’s plants I don’t have at the spice fest, I send the family off to it. Most of the family plays on the playground equipment, though.
After harvesting, Heidi does some singing practice…

While everyone else plays basketball.
Turns out Aiden is really good at it.. and Brayden is really bad. LOL.
Home just in time to age up Brayden.
He may be an elder now, but Heidi still thinks he looks good. hehe.
What’s this?
This is me getting bored.. and giving myself something to do after I get through Ashlie’s aspirations. Which are all coming along nicely.
However, Brayden seems to question my decision.. LOL. Heidi is thrilled.
Brayden’s first celebrity serum is a happy serum.. and the graphics are too cute to not take a picture.
Working from home seems to be getting Heidi closer to promotion than working hard at work.. so at home is where we’re working. No matter how much it distracts me from working on Ashlie.
He looks pleased with himself…
.. And he should be. That’s level 10 of Writing career. Woohoo! Brayden’s goals are completely done!

I’m not sure that looks like a safe thing to do…
.. But I guess she’s got the skills now to do it if anyone does!

The traits and aspiration I chose for Aiden. I took the 60 goal sets and rolled a randomizer to see what I’d be doing the next generation, and I got Chef and Stylist. I’m picking Stylist for Aiden, so Friend of the World seems like a good aspiration choice.. and outgoing as his second trait.
.. Well.. I suppose that’s some sort of style.. right?
Social skill…
… And the hardest one complete. Just three more to go.
Blowing bubbles at the flea market. Before it gets too cold to be outside.
Trying this Karaoke thing again. Maybe third try’s the charm.
And since it’s new skill day, I have everyone else participate, too.
Ashlie doesn’t finish in time.. but everyone else gets points..
And that’s Heidi’s second to last goal. All she needs now is her Level 10 career, and she’s really close to that one now.
I call that a good place to stop. Despite the fact we have a baby on the way. That’ll be next time’s surprise. *grin* See you in the next post!

Welcome back. It feels like forever since I last played, and it’s only been four days. I had to go back and look at the last post to see where I was.

YIKES!!! I completely forgot about naming the kids A-Z… so Glenn gets a new name first thing. Sorry kiddo, but now you’re Aiden. I also fixed the featured image from the last post, I hadn’t meant for it to be the same as their first chapter… And another goal I’m giving myself.. I’m going to try to get both kids to all four aspirations for that kids goal. I’ve never done that before, and I might not get them there, but no harm in trying, right?
Aiden is just so darn cute.. and such a happy kid, it seems like. I mean, who doesn’t like pancakes, right?
I have him join the Scouts after school program. Since he’s going to be working on all four aspirations, he’ll probably get a good portion of the scouts “career” done, too.. Maybe we can even get it to max and get that goal done, too?

Working on some inspired pictures for his first aspiration. I do a lot of aspiration switching for him, trying to get as far as I can before Ashlie ages up and things get really hectic.
It’s flea market day.. and on the off chance someone is selling snow globes, I send both Heidi and Aiden to the flea market. I figure I don’t want to lose any time on working on Aiden’s aspirations, so I switch to the social one, and get to work.
Socialization badge points galore! (While the woman at the next table practically breaks her arm putting her plate down and trying to watch Aiden..)
More food stall foods. I wasn’t sure whether I’d gotten curry or not, I hadn’t written it down.. so I went ahead and had her eat some. Spoiler: she’d already had it.
After work, I have Brayden join them, so Aiden can work on his BFF aspiration. Also, I’m keeping them there because there’s a Karaoke contest that night, and I figure we’ll give it a try with Heidi.

Oh my gosh.. Finally. Right after I complain about the snowglobe issue, and upgrade the apartment.. they appear.
The full collection. I have a hard time deciding whether I like the Grim Reaper one or the Haunted Mansion with the lightning in it best.

Aha.. she was mad about the dirty plates! .. And Aiden heads off to scouts as we finish this post. I got a lot done.. even if it doesn’t really feel like it. It’s just that I’m at the hard spot in the generation goals, so it takes longer to get them done. And taking care of the kids takes time.

So here we are again. I had a full day to play Sims on Sunday, and I already updated the two that needed it.. so it was time to get back to my new challenge. Also: this is a little longer post than I usually do, but I was on a roll… and excited for an age-up.
I load in to Brayden running furiously… why?
… because he’s mad at the next door neighbor. Poor Heidi just looks confused.

He does not look pleased.

Notice all the people in the house? I didn’t invite them. They just all suddenly walked in. I have no idea why.. but at least they didn’t all stay long, because I couldn’t even “ask them to leave”.
Brayden cooking reminds me to restock the refrigerator.
I’ve been keeping an eye out for sales tables with collectibles, and this wasn’t one, but I laughed WAY too hard at this. “A melancholy piece of wood” by Mortimer Goth. (He was not the one selling it.)
Working on writing skill for her next promotion. She takes advantage of the computer when Brayden is at work. Most days she works from home and this is better than sitting around just waiting on baby…
I send her outside to do on hour of her statue busking. It’s so cold she couldn’t do the second hour.. and you can see her breath. Also: pregnant statue? Too funny.
Brayden monopolizing the computer again. I love the way the windows frost up when it’s really cold. And bonus: that sad painting is one of my favorites.
.. Way to go Brayden! This shows that I’ve had quite a few days with not a lot of pictures.. because all they’re doing is skilling.. and it’s sorta boring. He’s now making good money from his published books… so that part of the aspiration completed quickly.
Goodness, Heidi, you’re getting huge. I hope it’s not twins!!
It’s that time.. and Brayden, as is typical of Sims fathers.. panics completely. Also: note that I bought new computer(s). I added a second one into the room next door so they’d stop eating at the desk.
I send her to the hospital, partially because her needs are pretty low and it’s going to be a long day (I’ll explain later), and partially because I imagine maybe there we complications so she couldn’t do a home birth. She looks concerned. If I’d gotten stuck in a contraption like that, I’d be concerned, too!
The doctor is at least working quickly. (And for some reason, Brayden didn’t follow us to the hospital.. and I can’t bring him here. Weird.)
Welcome Glenn! I’ve already decided he’ll be the heir… (note from the future.. I completely forgot about the a-z naming thing.. his name is now Aiden)
… so let’s hope he grows up cute!
.. And now to explain the long day. It’s winterfest.. AND Brayden’s birthday. Oh, and Heidi, you’re going to make him deaf with that horn. Back off a little next time, please?

Brayden wandered off, and I wondered where he went, only to find him fixing the trash in the hallway all by himself.
Heidi makes Winterfest Ham dinner, while Brayden cleans the kitchen.
I think it’s hilarious that they use a bell to call people to a grand meal. I mean, it’s just Brayden, perhaps you could just call his name?
Dinner. Heidi looks adorable with her cheeks all full of food. (Which sounds weird to say, but she does!)

I don’t remember what they both got.. nothing spectacularly bad or good.
I hung the birth certificate up with the emotional paintings I’ve kept.
Brayden turns out to be a great dad. Whenever I can’t find him, he’s taking care of Glenn (Aiden).
… He needs logic for work.
.. And Heidi needs her last hour as a statue. At least she has an audience this time. She makes a whole 27 Simoleons.
Another goal done… and dinner of Ramen as a statue. Hehe. Even Brayden is wondering why she didn’t change.
Yep. Trying for another baby… spolier: it failed.

Ohmigosh.. he’s ADORABLE!! That face! I love him. Completely. I gave him the Inquisitive trait, hoping that it would help him skill.
I remodel his room so it’s now fit for a toddler.
.. And begin the skilling process. I’m really going to push hard to max all his skills for the Top Notch Toddler trait. I’ve never managed it before… and I prepare to spend a bunch of aspiration points on potions for Brayden so he can be there to help skill when he needs to be.
*SQUEEE* Just. So. Cute!!
Heidi’s birthday.. If I were her, I wouldn’t have my face that close to a stinky bowl.. but okay.
Finally the Romance Festival comes back around, and I get Heidi her kiss for her aspiration.
Then I change them into their finery and give this whole wedding thing another try.
Success!!
Then, back home for New Year’s TV. Even Glenn (Aiden) is watching. 🙂
.. Before he gets bored and goes to make a mess in the bedroom.
I’m pushing so hard for skills, the poor tot didn’t make it to the bed. Oops… sorry, Glenn (Aiden).

Skilling while Glenn (Aiden) is sleeping. Won’t have time when he’s up! Also, around this time, I do a lot of vacation time for Heidi, she needed skill work (has to win a Geek Con contest), and Brayden needed her support. It’s not like she wasn’t ahead in her career, anyway.

First of all, welcome to my new challenge!! I’ve been looking for a “do everything” challenge for The Sims 4, and have been working on one save with just that intention… but I’ve been increasingly disappointed that the challenges I was trying to mash together just didn’t follow what I was hoping to do. So.. when in doubt.. write a new challenge. And that’s just what I did. I could have used my old save, but for some reason, my sim didn’t trigger the achievement she should have, and the whole save in general was annoying me.. so I’m starting over. My old save wasn’t blogged, but I feel like I’ll enjoy it more if I blog it, so here we go. First thing I did was pick out the two goal sets I’ll start working on… and make sims to match them. So I’ll start off by introducing my sims and where they’re living.

I moved them into the city, since the City Living aspiration seems to require it, and I figure it’s a good starting place for my challenge. The next generation can move out into the wide world.. hopefully with more money. I chose the 930 Medina Studios apartment, and upon loading, made a few changes. I moved the computer to the master bedroom, added an easel, and transformed the master closet into a second bathroom.
It’s a gloomy spring day, but they’re getting to know each other. It seems to be going well!
Skilling… I do a LOT of that this chapter, so I don’t take a huge amount of pictures of it.
The humor and Hijinks Fest. They’re joking with each other.. I think.
Making a friend to give her key to for her aspiration. Go Heidi.
Getting started on learning recipes. I know I don’t need to for this goal-set, but it’s something I’ve never done before, so I thought I’d get as close as possible.
…Writing more books.
.. Tasting new food…
… Noisy Neighbors. LOL Hm. The pitfalls of apartments.
Then, the very next day, the neighbor in quest gets mad at us for making too much noise! OOF… anooying.
I spy collectibles!! Hurry and buy!
Oh, look who I finally found!
Cool. Now, soon as I have time, I can send her out for that busking goal of hers.
Spice fest is in town. We pick up all the harvestables, and try the challenge, but fail. A little too early on that one, Heidi.
It’s Love Day, so I send them out on a date. It doesn’t go very well. People keep interrupting their conversation, or making it awkward.. and then these Celebs kept showing up.. it was a hot mess.
The best conversation of the night… was in the bathrooms. At least nobody bothered them in there.
I stopped it at bronze.. so I have that completed.
Eating more food. Ignore the outline on the table. I’m not sure how I managed to forget to move the mouse. 🙁 (Oh, she’s at the Flea Market, by the way.)
A karaoke contest starts, so I figure we’ll join it. She’s not very good at it yet.
… But a crowd shows up anyway. Not sure whether they’re cheering her on or jeering at her…
A bedroom update.. and more skilling.
Bills paid, and a few books published. I am saving way too many books to help me keep count of what he’s written. I’ll make a note at the end of this chapter with how far he’s gotten on that.
Geek Con. Heidi tried the contests, and failed.. but hey, it was fun.
… And it was even more fun when Brayden got off work….

Hehe. One achievement down.. a million to go.
Still too hot for you, huh? Better keep practicing. And why they keep eating at this desk, I have no idea. 🙁

I’d been looking for a protestor for DAYS.. I send Heidi to work.. and a protest finally starts. They’re so rare, I bring her home from work immediately to donate for her aspiration. Now to wait for the Romance fest again.
Nope. Spicefest.
However, they both made it through!!
… And here’s a note on her progress on food stall food. Not bad.
Brayden’s book count… he’s doing well, too. I got him the Creative Visionary Trait and that seems to be helping. So far, the hardest to get done was the Sad books. It’s hard to get them sad. I had to just keep trying to ask about love on the future cube until it said no, and use that sadness to get it done.

Funds.. are doing ok. Could be a lot better, but holding back on publishing the books for so long really set them back.
.. Still waiting on romance fest to come around again…
Heidi’s doing very well at her career, though. Despite coming home early that one day.
Just thought this was interesting. She doesn’t need them for her goals, but it was fun to get anyway.
Really low on the Royalties scale so far, but that should catch up fast now that the books in question are finally published, and he’s finally down to writing the books that make more money.
The writer career always seems to take longer than necessary, but at least he’s coming along okay.
Oh, and as for the seasons.. it’s nearly winter. I’ve played 3/4 of the year.. and still no babies. Had too much in the way of other things to do. There will be offspring next time, though. I promise that!
