The only things left are Damien’s last promotion (he’s getting close), and a whole bunch of time while Eva ages up to Young Adult. As I previously said, this is going to be a long house…. but at least there will be one birthday for sure in this update.

First thing I do … is something I should have done ages ago… add some custom holidays. They’re totally lacking from the game, and I think my Ramblers saves will truly be better for having them. That being said, here they are:

Apparently waiting for him got boring, because Karen started randomly running around cleaning the house.

One of the gifts was a robot vacuum’s dock, so I went ahead and got them the robot, too. And then had Damien upgrade it.

He needed level 8 Handiness, though, so we did some more upgrades to the stove to level up. Other presents included a lump of clay, and a doctor’s playset from Father Winter to Eva, so those got put out, as well. The rest of the presents weren’t all that interesting, and were sold.

The next day, we have a MAJOR blizzard (see the house picture in the header.. lol) .. and the poor Mail-lady is clearly not dressed for the weather. Put some clothes on!

They all RUN inside after school. and Chantal does not look pleased.

Karen, our cheerful little bug, looks pleased, while Eva looks more bemused than anything else. I just love these kids! So cute!

Chantal’s having a mood swing. No wonder she looked unhappy.

… So is Reese. Not a good day for teenagers, I guess.

Homework party .. while the vacuum heads off to do it’s thing. … And why is there bacon and eggs on the dock… and is that pancakes on top of the robot?? *facepalm* Oh dear, EA…. why.

… The teens are back doing well, and Kayla is helping Eva with her homework all by herself. Despite her juice addiction, she’s a great mom. Oh, and as you can see on the new coffee table… someone already shaped the clay into a teapot. How cute.

Is it bad that I have the most fun watching the little robot work? And purposely leave messes for it to clean up?

This is such a social and interesting family to play. I love all the time I spend on this save. Much more so than previous drifter houses.

Birthday time! I told you there’d be one in this update! Nearly everyone is celebrating, except for poor Eva, who’s working on her second aspiration.

Damien’s is to lose weight. I’ve been noticing a he’s a little on the chunky side lately.

Reese’s .. is to gain skill. Most everyone else’s is either to get a promotion or do better in school.

.. Not another mood swing, this time it’s just Karen working on her Charisma for work.

Karen, honey, you may want to move the other hand out of the way of the knife while you try to learn cooking…

..Everyone else watches a movie while Karen toils away in the kitchen.

What a pretty day. Since the only thing left on the Whiz Kid aspiration is getting an “A”, I start working on Social Butterfly. My favorite.. (sarcasm).

While Karen finds a potential boyfriend. Aren’t they cute together?

The house is nearly complete. And there’s still a long way to go, yet. We’ll end up with a boatload of extra money. LOL. Writer career is at level 9, and that and Eva’s aspiration (and growing up) are all that there is left to do. Also, I have to apologize for the last two posts. Apparently I couldn’t remember Kayla (the mom’s) name… I kept calling her Kyla or Kyra… but all has been fixed, I went back and edited in the correct name. Sorry Kayla. So, with that being said, here we go!

Gets his fourth star! It’s at this point that I notice there’s someone hanging out on the front walk…

Oh, really?…. I give her an autograph…

.. Then bribe her to leave. Can’t have someone freezing to death on my watch. It’s COLD out there!

Ran out of room for projects.. and it’s too cold outside.. so they’re in mom and dad’s room for Reese’s Robotics project.

Random person who was not invited wandering around the house. I think it may be the nanny from when the kids were littler… but still, she wasn’t invited…

..One project done. Good. Literally. That’s what it was on quality.

So much happening in this photo. Dad is scavenging through his earlier repair leftover parts… Chantal is going to do her homework.. and Reese.. is destroying the dollhouse while she’s supposed to be doing her project. I make Damien fix it, and send Reese back to work.

… Random person helping herself to our juice bar. (Which I got because Kayla is still struggling with a juice addiction the game says she doesn’t have. Turns out ORANGE JUICE is triggering it, and I compromise by just making her get an OJ every time she gets angry (instead of cheating to make the missing trait come back and then go away again.).. I figure it’s the lesser of two evils… since she won’t voluntarily get one or use the new juice bar.)

I send in the cavalry to help with poor Eva’s project so she can get back to work on her aspiration.

… And since Reese still needs help, I invite random sim lady to do something helpful.

The next day after school So much happening. Eva exercising, Reese stressed from too much school, Chantal having our second teen mood swing.. and Karen wandering into the house like nothing happened.

After calming Chantal down, everyone is back to work.

.. So I get her started on the next one. Who knows what she’ll have to do next generation, and I’d like to be as prepared as possible.

I was hoping to get the next day of Winterfest and the day after that’s Birthday into this post.. but again.. it’s long enough already. We’ll see those next time.

The house is coming along great. Value is done, but I’m far from where I’d like it to be decoration-wise. But there’s plenty of time left for that, and the funds are certainly still coming in, so it shouldn’t be an issue. I fully expect this to be a house win. I think the only thing that could go wrong is the heir dying (knock on wood). That being said, there’s a long way still to go on this house, because the heir is still a toddler. The parents could very well be gone before we finish getting the heir aged up. Again, crossing fingers for luck that that isn’t what happens. (Oh, and featured image… isn’t the house gorgeous?! I love it with the fall decor.)

.. Since we left you last time with some school projects in progress.. here’s Karen’s complete. She got a “good,” even with the help.

I then finally get around to finishing the parent’s bedroom. Shown here:

I elect to wall off the kitchen and do some upgrades to it. And yes, I got a sprinkler system. Safe.

Yup. Here goes the laundry chore. But I made that alcove specifically for it, so I went ahead and used it. We’ll have enough teenagers who are able to do it to keep up with it. I hope.

The house is coming along nicely… currently it’s at about 36k worth, I’m very sure I won’t have any problem finishing it. As for the Writer career, he’s halfway through level 7, so that should be good too.

When we last played, the girls were working on their school projects. They finished, the volcano was a “good”, while the solar system was an “excellent”. Still.. good job for both, since they did it without help.

I buy the unbreakable toilet and a decent sink for the master bath.

… And the kitchen finally has a sink!

Kayla and I have had a FIT this time around. I think I finally discovered what her problem was. When she lost her fame, she somehow didn’t completely lose her Juiced up quirk. I googled it, and tried to figure it out, and finally had to cheat-add her fame back, add the quirk, remove said quirk, and remove the fame again. All worked well after that.. and she’s (as you can see above).. finally participating in the family again. Why she chose gardening, I don’t know. But I’m not going to complain.

Awww… welcome Eva! SO cute! Totally love my heir now. She even got the red hair that I love.

The first thing I notice… is that I forgot to roll for lot traits. so here goes nothing. After a couple flubs of getting traits that aren’t possible on a residential lot, I roll Filthy, Haunted, and Training Spot. Oh boy. Since I don’t plan on getting a pet… that last one is pretty much useless. But anyway. On with the fun. Since it’s been so long…. Where were we? (Oh and the featured image is a common image for me to see for this post… poor Damien works himself to the bone with all the writing and kids…)

Oh yeah. Toddlers galore. Carry on.

Potty training. So exciting!

Chantal is such a cutie. Despite being clingy.

Reese, on the other hand, is so easy to care for. And Kayla continues to be a great mother. (Remember I said this later…)

She even cleans the house on her own!

Such a struggle to keep the fun need up with all the book writing and toddler care. Poor Damien is really having trouble.

More potty training. Sigh.

Chantal continues to enchant me, however. Love her hair-do.

Then.. I take what little money I’ve been able to save.. and decide to do something about their house. It’s been annoying me.. so I look up some house plans.. and start with at least building the first floor.

I like it so far. It gets even better later.

Kayla lost her fame status… and Damien takes over as the household celebrity. On another note, he finally got around to publishing all the books in his inventory because we finally got that last “Good” book written and moved on to the next aspiration milestone.

Welcome baby Karen! Yep, that’s the third promotion.. and we had JUST enough money for the required adoption. Poor Kayla’s needs seem to be tanking, though, with autonomous work and all these kids. I think she’s just getting overwhelmed. Which is going to get worse before it gets better. Poor girl!

Our first haunted lot guest. They seem to be interested only in cleaning the place up, though, and I don’t have much of an issue with them breaking stuff…

Oh, Karen. And here I thought I was doing good without toddlers playing in the potty.

More ghostly cleaning… and apparently Damien was in such a hurry to publish he ended up eating outside, at the mailbox.. in the rain.

However, he’s now a two star celebrity.. with me doing less than nothing. At some point, he also got a quirk for liking good food. Which is interesting since he’s a vegetarian. (Which complicates things. Good thing Kayla is so overwhelmed she just works, sleeps, chases Karen around, and never has time to cook…)

And… last house pictures for the post. Don’t have the wall papering on… but I’m very pleased with how it’s turning out. It’s worth around 36k now with bare minimum furnishing, too. I used Strangerville windows, and I think they turned out very nicely. Looks nothing like the example floor plan house I used.. but I like this better.

And…. the part I’ve been waiting for to close the post out…

Anyway.. see you next post. Two more kids to grow up.. and lots of playtime before I can count this house a win, but I think I’m doing okay. Damien is at level 7 in his career, working on his “bestsellers” final milestone, and getting close to writing level 8 (and his next promotion). Money is finally “flowing” in, and summer is in full swing in the game. So.. it’s a good place to pause.

He was originally wanting to be a Chef, so we switched him to the Author aspiration.

Poor guy has very minimal skills…

My first possible celebrity Rambler… and yes, he is “responsible” and has “emotional control” … which is a first for that combination for me.

At least he’s got a good start..

… Sorta. LOL.

The first thing we do is get him a job.

Then I buy him a couple walls to put his inspirational painting on, a desk, a chair, a cooler, and, finally, I set out his word processor. Only to discover….

…. Awww, crud. (*face-palm*)

… Ok try this again.

… He now has an outhouse. Without a toilet. HAHA. Luckily, it’s still early morning, and it’s fall. So at least he’s not going to freeze to death. Yet.

So, I have him get to work on practicing his writing. Children’s Books aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on, so I won’t write books until he can write short story books.

….. Whoa. Wait. Who’s that?!?!? A Young Adult who’s awesome looking? Too bad she’s a celebrity, but maybe I can get her anyway. I have Damien drop everything and run across town.

Ignoring the townie dropping trash in the bin, we get our first autograph. Damien seems appropriately giddy.

There. A Selfie. Aren’t they getting along fabulously?? And She’s a real cutie.

After a few more interactions, I let her go because mister Damien is getting sleepy… and then I discover the problem with celebrities. Unless you’ve actually made friends or romances with them.. you can’t call them back to your lot. So I’m left hoping beyond hope that I see her walking by sometime soon again.. and poor Damien is left to the local bench. Since, of course, his outhouse doesn’t have sleeping accommodations.

… Or a toilet.

… HEY. I bought you a cooler so you wouldn’t waste money on… well.. nevermind. Enjoy your grilled fruit.

Even the ducks are wondering what he’s doing outside looking for frogs in a thunderstorm. While stinking. … heyyyy…

….. Yup.

… In case you couldn’t see… he’s taking a shower in a thunderstorm. I keep waiting for the lightning to strike him, but it never does. Dumb luck there, I guess.

Harvestfest passes with the obligatory salable gnomes.. and a day off of work (when he hasn’t been in to work YET.) No work.. but lots of collecting. Pears are fall-winter, so I plant a few of them… and he finally has a home restroom and sleeping “cave”. And lights. So I can take screenshots of the captive writer. LOL.

Hark! I see a Kayla! Turns out flirting with celebrities works better than trying to talk to them. Until I tried giving her a kiss. That was refused.

So we spend a lot of time following her around the neighborhood. And drinking sleep replacers/mood elevators. I think I went through at least a couple of them before the kiss FINALLY worked. Which opened up a “woohoo” option.. which routefailed… but at least it opened up the normal socializations so I could let her (finally, poor girl) leave and still be able to call her back.

By the next day.. his last day off before his FIRST day of work (it’s been nearly a week off at this point).. I invite her over, do some more romancing, and marry her/move her in. Success. Now I just need to start adopting. The first day of work…

…. gets the first promotion.. and I have plenty of funds saved up for….

The first baby. Turns out Kayla is a fabulous mom.

However, being busy working (Kayla is a level 5 bodybuilder/professional trainer).. has it’s consequences.

Aww. Oh well. Didn’t see the need for all those levels of celebrity, anyway.

I manage to get another whole day of work in before he gets the second promotion…

… Wonder is Reese is a boy or a girl?  Who knows.. We’ll have to wait until later to find out, I guess.

Turns out that Chantel’s birthday is the same night.

And on top of her grandfather dying.. she’s Clingy. Yuck. This could be interesting.

In honor of the new toddler.. I re-do the house a bit with the little bit of extra funds I have.

And we’re back to parenting. Kayla continues to be a huge help, and I never have even the slightest worry that one of them will be taken away.

Kayla loses all her celebrity levels.. which is just as well…. because as soon as I publish all these books in Damien’s inventory, he’s probably going to be one, instead. I’ve been waiting because of the “publish ten books” task in the next set of his aspiration.. but that last “good” book is being particularly stubborn.

… More parenting..

… And… due to a lack of funds and another adoption looming over the horizon.. Damien is the only one who ends up with a present.. and he manages to net a 4,000 simoleon computer! I decide to keep it rather than sell it.. and I hope Father Winter actually disappears when he’s supposed to this time (and doesn’t notice the toddler paint puddles all over the yard).

Then, it’s Reese’s birthday. Turns out (per the family tree info) that Reese is a girl. so yay for sisters!

And an awesome trait!

Which means, I’m technically done for value. Just have some more decorating to do to make ME feel the house is done. And a lot of Speed 3 to get through the teen years. With any luck, this will be my last house 007 post.

The sun room is finally furnished.

.. And Loma gets a bath after getting back home filthy. (As you can see, it bugs out and doesn’t get her clean, so she ends up needing a second one. sigh.)

Finally. Clean. Although the bathroom certainly isn’t.

I’m bored, so I’m making Emmett work on some more Charisma.

Final stats. I forget to take a picture of the final family funds, but they have nearly 30k, mostly from Emmett’s job, since I gave up on gardening once the house was furnished. I could have done better on the house.. but I really just wanted to get house 7 over with. So I hit speed three and took photos when I saw an opportunity.

I really wanted to get this house completed before Get Famous launched, and I managed to do it. We’ll see whether Get Famous affects things in house 8!

Working on Emmett’s skills for his business career. He seems happy there’s no baby yet, while Claire is miserable about it.

When he’s not wandering around naked, he’s making a mess. The Wild trait is always such a handful.

Yet another mess to clean up.

The next date towards the aspiration.. I send them to the nightclub.. and I figure they’re going to try for a baby again.

Dancing after date goals are done with. I don’t know why they always seem to dance by themselves when you send them to dance.

First thing.. we check on the goals for this part of house 007:

Second, we have some set up to do – we move the other Ramblers back into house 6 and move the two new ones into Springscape. Since it’s the middle of the night, the first pictures are awful, but that’s the way things go.

Third, I realize I completely forgot to turn aging off for the first part of house 007 so I feed Emmett a young again potion to make up for it. Don’t have the points for Claire, but I think she’ll be okay. Here are their starting stats: (Emmett’s original aspiration was the pets one, he may go back to it after we finish soulmate.)

Their first action: flirt in front of the only thing they have. A mailbox.

I have them become best friends.

Then, first order of business… literally.. is to get a job. Because the business investor career is high paying, I put him in that.

I change both sims into their outerwear (may be cheating, but I want them to live) and get started on the house. By the next day.. their outerwear stinks.. and I wonder why I never got rid of the sunglasses and hat for Claire. It starts to get on my nerves. LOL.

Now that the dig sites are up, and I can SEE them.. Emmett heads out collecting.

Wait: Onions are a winter plant!? Score!

The pile of dirty dishes begins. Claire is not impressed.

The second important thing. First thing was the above food cooler. Second: no more peeing themselves.

Well, I know what the third thing has to be. Poor Claire.

I let Emmett try showering in the rain. In the middle of winter. Sounds legit. But at least he’s clean for his first day of work.

Amazingly, Claire gets bored enough while Emmett is at work to continue the planting in the garden.

But obviously, some things are more fun than planting. Check out the pile of plates. LOL.

Finally. A place for poor Claire to rest. She hasn’t found a bench this entire time!

The worst Winterfest ever. Father Winter shows up by the mailbox and gives Emmett a $115 lamp. Um.. thanks!?  I guess every little bit helps, huh.

Now that they have a bathroom, the handiness skill needs working on.

Jeez, Claire.. he JUST fixed the sink. Too bad he’s at work now, you’ll have to make do.

I saved $1000 so they could travel, and do their first date.

Having something other than granola to eat must have been amazing.

Date 2: Romance Festival. It was in town.. so why not.

Everyone seems to be happy for them.

Spring starts, so I put the onions in the family inventory and plant lemons (all season) and bluebells which will last through summer. Gardening is so complicated now that seasons is out!

Oh yeah, and I bought him a bee box.

Bills #2. And we could even afford them. We’re not doing too bad!

I decide it’s past time to try for the heir now that it’s spring and they have a “house”.

Emmett gets home with a promotion. Enough to finish the shell with walls and windows. No paint yet, but we’ll get there.

On that note, That’s a pretty good start for Part 2! I’m officially back up to the farthest I’ve ever gotten in drifter. Everything from this point on is new to me. So this should be exciting!
