Chapter 1.1 | Chapter 1.3

And we’re back. I was not in a mood to write a post yesterday, so this got pushed to today. The first thing I do upon loading the save is take some time to contemplate making Aleki a Spellcaster. It’ll (hopefully) give us occult points – and he DID come in with the wish to do the potions aspiration.

Obviously, my decision shows in the above post. Spellcaster here we come.

Aleki: “Here’s your motes. No idea what you want with them, but they’re all here..”

He then makes friends with the practical magic guy, gets his first potion recipe.. and checks for tomes and ingredients at the shops.

Sure, Aleki, just poke it with a stick. That’ll work.

That’s probably the better way to make a potion.

Time for some magical training.

Oh… joy. Now Aleki is cursed. And I have no way of cleansing it yet. Sigh.

This is what I’ve been doing – pretty much non-stop. Lots of homework. It makes this house incredibly boring to play. (Which is part of the reason I moved Aleki in!)

Hard at work. Still.

Wyld clearly doesn’t care that he got cursed…. again. And just blithely walks past him on her way home from class.

Aleki learning a potion recipe. Outside. At night. With no lights other than the magical ones. As you do?

… And then I got an achievement. While Wyld was peeing… Confused, I check my notifications.

Wait… WHAT?!

.. I know how she feels. I’m a little bit dazed myself now. I’ve never seen a sim actually WIN the lotto. Well, I guess we won’t have to worry about bills for a while!

Since it’s nearly weekend, I decide that it’s time to get started on kiddos. We still have one week of college left, but I think I can get away with doing four classes while Aleki takes care of the kid. Provided we don’t get twins. *crosses fingers*

Love day!

Curses. Again. Poor guy. He’s really not very good at the potion thing, is he?

It’s that time. I’m hoping for a boy, because I have a nice boy’s name already picked out. What do I get? A girl. Of course – it’s my luck. I name her Wixom. Upon getting home, I realize there’s no way I have any intentions to do this whole name game in a Tiny House.. so I open up build mode and get to work.

Here’s the upstairs…

And.. the downstairs. I end up deciding the kitchen needs expansion, and change things before long.

He finally has learned the de-cursing potion, and uses the sample he was given to get rid of curses. Spoiler: it doesn’t last long.

… That seems safe..? .. Why don’t they have food processors in this game?

It’s that time. And we got Fussy. Joy!

She’s adorable. … And.. with another weekend (and graduation) coming on..

.. We get started on the next nooboo.

Playtime. She’s so cute, guys, I can’t even!

With all the things that keep breaking, Wyld’s repair skills are doing pretty well.

Halfway up the stairs, poor Aleki ages up. And I realize that I completely forgot his birthday. Oops. Note that “fussy” Wixom is happily taking care of her own needs. Not very fussy, IMO. With the new baby coming, I decide the house needs another upgrade. A few hours later.. I realize I went completely overboard.. and will have a half-empty upstairs until we have more kids. But such is life. Here’s how the shell turned out:

I like it. The swimming gazebo and pier are especially cool, to me, at least.

Toddler room moved downstairs, and playroom added. Not 100% sure what the other room will be – either a bedroom or a skilling room. I fenced the porch in and put some nice toddler toys out there, too. Note the pile of toys I have in the toddler’s bedroom. All get put away, but I still think the amount of “extra” toys I bought may be a little excessive. *chuckles* That lottery win has gone to my head!

Aleki manages to finish his aspiration. It actually didn’t take all that long, considering he’s done most the parenting, too.

Um… Aleki… 1, why do you need a book to build on a kid’s toy… and 2.. you DO realize I put that there for the kids, right?

Yay!!! My first sim through sims 4 University.

So, of course, I send her to graduation.

Wait, we get fireworks??  Awesome!

Celebrating with the others before the ceremony starts.

They threw their hats. I missed getting a picture of it, but they did. Which was cool. Definitely unexpected, too.

We get a picture for graduating. Awesome!

Getting our first job. Not that we NEED one.. but hey. We start at level 7!!

Partially because I managed to get her to graduate with honors.

Now that school is done, I can concentrate more on Wixom.

Whee!!!

Oh my gosh. She’s just too cute. I’ve never really used the kiddie pool before now.. but this will definitely not be the last time I use it.

Time for another girl?? I have a great name!

… I should have known. Oh well, Yariq it is.

Oh, no, why are we changing into the hospital gown again? 🙁 So annoying. Anyway. We got two babies done.. and we have a decent house.. and lots of money. Not bad for just over two weeks of playing. See you next time for more babies!

House 010 Chapter 8 < | > House 011 Chapter 2

First, we need to see what our new goals are:

House 011 Building Goals:
2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom home worth at least $50k Simoleons
*Include a designated party space
House 011 Generational Goals:
Complete the Master Mixologist Aspiration
Achieve Level 10 of the Mixologist branch of the Culinary Career
Craft Each one of the following potions:
Confident, Energized, Flirty, Focused, Happy, and Inspired
Raise the heir to Young Adult age and give them the Mean trait

Looks like we get to build a bar, finally. I ended up building a bowling alley bar. Might as well use the pack I bought so long ago and hardly ever use, right? Plus, it sounded like a fun thing for my future drifters to do. Anyway, here it is:

I really like how it turned out. It is uploaded under the #drifterchallenge hashtag, and it’s called Turkey Bowling Lanes.

Then, we send our heir, Blaze, through CAS – because, let’s face it, I have to look at him for the rest of the generation.

I went with the glasses he wears to bed, and since a lot of the clothes he had picked out for himself were red, I figured that might be his favorite color, so I went with it. He’s quite a handsome fellow!

He then moves out to his new lot, Umbrage Manor, and we roll for lot traits:

Ugh. Sunny aspect is what annoyed me so much last house. … And mean vibe? (And what am I supposed to do with the science lair.. lol!)

His inventory is cleared out, and here’s how he starts:

I’m going to have fun trying to get him a toilet in time! Eeeks.

After all that.. we change his aspiration, because he needs to complete the Mixology one… and we’re ready to play.

We start with harvesting everything possible in the area. Because 0 simoleons is the pits.

Oh, yeah! This area has a public bathroom! Guess the toilet won’t be an issue after all!

Blaze finishes his bathroom trip, and we get him his Culinary job.. which, thanks to his High School “A”, he gets level 3 in.

We then spend the rest of the day fishing. Mostly useless stuff, but we did fish up a voodoo doll to give us 950 simoleons, though. That’s always appreciated!

Poor Blaze spends his first day soaking wet, and the night doesn’t get any better for him when I find a nearby bench for him to sleep on.

It’s still pouring the next day, so Blaze visits the bathroom, and eats some mushrooms he found the day before.

Then, it occurs to me that because it’s pouring, he can actually take a shower, which is a huge success for him, since he’s starting to really need one.

Someone cooks baked potatoes, so we “steal” one, and, with that, our needs are full. Time to start looking for spouses.

The first young adult I find is this gal. I’m sure she would bring nice genetics in, but I’m not sure about her traits.

We keep looking.

It’s Monday, and he has to go to work soon, but on his way, I have him go pay his 161 simoleon bills. He manages to find the only mud puddle in the area, though, so he’ll be going to work filthy.

I also have him plant the beginnings of his garden in the middle of the night when he gets home from work – but it’s ok, because he wasn’t really tired yet. Back to a night on the local bench, and another day has passed.

We find another young adult, who is very pretty.. and Mom even seems to like her.

But, again, I’m not sure about her traits.

Blaze somehow gets past my iron will control, and buys himself a cupcake, but can’t finish it because he ends up face first into the sidewalk. Serves him right.

After a nap, I have him eat a much healthier Grilled Fruit meal – which also helps his Cooking out, which he needs for a promotion.

I guess being a Klepto isn’t a horrible thing – at least he keeps stealing books that he can read for fun!

A gorgeous day for fishing.. although I’m not sure Blaze agrees with me.

Since we have money in the bank (more than needed for traveling, that’s for sure).. we send him to the new bar. We try to get him to tend bar, but he keeps route failing, so eventually I give up and just start looking at the bar patrons. Unfortunately, it’s Ghost Night, so not many of them are suitable.

We do, however, run into this “bar regular” (literally, that’s her job. pretty sure she’ll lose it if we marry her, though) named Ariana, who seems to like us.. and has some nice traits.

The next day, I finally get around to spending some of Blaze’s hard-earned money, and we buy him the bar he needs for his aspiration, and the start of a kitchen. He gets going on his Mixology, and I get him up to promotion level, which is awesome.

I do also buy him a bed – a decent one – and he gets his first good night’s sleep since he took over as Heir. Poor guy. It’s over halfway through the first week by this point!

I take him out for Love Day, and invite Ariana along.. but she ditches him as soon as they get to the restaurant. So I wander around looking for other options.. and we find this pretty girl.

… But again, I don’t like her traits near as much as I like Ariana’s.

The next day, it’s POURING – again…. so he can’t eat from the fridge because it’s broken. Again. (Or still??) .. So I buy him some walls.. and a real bathroom so he can stop running across the road to the public one.

Mom stops by before we head off to work, and she’s overjoyed that her son is doing so well. We notice that she’s turned grey since we left, but that’s the way time goes by. Blaze leaves for work…

.. and mom decides to clean house. I’m ok with this.

She then finds the nearest mud puddle and has some fun before deciding it’s past time to go home.

Well, it’s not Love Day anymore… but with having a “real” house now, we invite Ariana over to see whether she likes us “that way” or not.

.. Um, sorry, Mom.. we’re busy.

First kiss.. and a “yes” to being our girlfriend… I really like this girl. Blaze seems to agree with me.

I send them to the shower to get some good “clean” fun. (sorry, I had to…)

And then, just for the heck of it, and just before Blaze has to work – we propose. I actually put some thought into letting this be the last picture of the update, and leave you guys with a cliff-hanger, but I just couldn’t be that mean.

She agrees! Which just points to the fact that she was the “Right” choice – the courtship went by pretty much perfectly. (If you don’t count getting stood up on Love Day at the restaurant.)

Blaze clearly approves of the choice. I love his eyebrow in this picture.

I hurry up and get them married, and move her in. What a smile on her face! She comes with 20k but we’re good and cheat it all away.

Anyway, here’s her traits and aspiration. She should be a great spouse!

Blaze heads off for work, and Ariana meets our teenaged brother, Cayden, and has a short chat.

… Then she decides to read our ill-gotten books before bed, making herself at home.

This is where I leave you, because it’s now Monday.. which means that I went a whole day past where I was supposed to stop, but I was having so much fun! I can’t wait until Friday when I get to play some more!

House 010 Chapter 8 < | > House 011 Chapter 2

Chapter 1.1 | Chapter 1.3

So.. last time, we married an Island elemental, just like I had planned, and upgraded the house with the proceeds. This time.. I plan to get the family started.

Amaranthe goes off to work, while Hawea get started on his work duties (tutoring).

After finishing that, I am at a loss of what else to do with him, so I figure he’s going to need some logic for his work… (or I think that’s what he’ll need?)… so I buy him a chess set and let him get started on that.

Amaranthe comes home from work and makes some salad for dinner for the two of them, paints a little….. then …

Try for Baby time!! *crossing fingers*

Success! Let’s hope it’s not twins.

Breakfast. I guess Hawea is into salads? That night, we hold the featured image’s Kava party – and I only get a Silver. Sigh… These Kava parties will be the death of me. It also leads to the next picture…

… Hawea’s first major household chore. Hey, someone has to be in charge of handiness!

We take them to the hospital for the big event…

.. And, predictably, Hawea freaks out while she’s in the machine. I can’t really blame him, because it looks horrifying.

Our first born is a boy… but we’ll see about the heir thing. Nowhere in the rules do I see it saying the first born has to be the heir. However, we go with the color  theme for gen 2 for naming.

That night.. I try again.. and finally get a gold Kava party, although Amaranthe has to bow out in the middle of it to take care of the baby.

With that part of her aspiration done, the next day we get to beach hunting for seashells.

.. And grilling. This is going to take a while.

Poor Hawea is trying to take care of the baby as much as possible as well as working towards promotions as much as possible… and he’s paying the price.

We, however, do have another nooboo on the way. *wink* I did say I was going to work on the family!

A busy Winterfest, with Amaranthe doing housework, and Hawea working on his Research and Debate skill – which is apparently the skill needed for Education. Joy.

Cyan grows up.. and he’s SO cute! But then, I say that about all toddlers.

Clingy. Goodie.

He does NOT look happy to be getting potty trained. LOL. Do you see that glare?!

He does look appropriately shocked when his mother taps out early for the night. Although, I think he’s actually playing with his grilled cheese, splattering it everywhere. Because that’s what toddlers DO!! (I have a toddler and a toddler to be as a niece and nephew. I know these things.. lol)

Hawea tries to put Cyan to bed.. and poor tyke doesn’t quite make it. Although, actually, he does… he just then gets out of bed so he can pass out. WTG sims. Thank goodness this isn’t an ISBI.

Amaranthe looks confused about her hubby bringing a book to the delivery room. I kinda of agree with her. It’s pretty silly… because he then puts it down on the counter and then and ONLY then does he do the father panicking thing.

Second baby is a little girl, who I name Oceana.

I just love little Cyan’s facial expressions. He has the biggest eyes!

New year’s .. and both make resolutions for promotions.. and then watch some TV together.

The midnight fireworks signal bedtime for everyone (although, thankfully, the toddler was already in bed before the TV watching.)

Hawea is – once again – in charge of baby care to get his parenting skill up for his Super Parent aspiration, while Amaranthe works on her own aspiration.

.. And with this picture.. that’s a finished aspiration for Amaranthe! .. Wonder if I should pick her a new one?

Hawea scolds Cyan for making a mess that I told him to make so he can get closer to his aspiration.. and I feel a little mean for doing it that way.

.. Oceana ages up adorable, and the dreaded hospital gown bug strikes poor Amaranthe. Every time she goes outside, she spins into the gown. It’s kinda annoying.

.. But at least Oceana got Charmer. Could have been a lot worse!

With that, I figure I’m at a good stopping spot.. so we’ll see you next time!  Oh yeah, I have also remembered to deduct 2000 simoleons from their bank to “pay” for the kids as per the rules. I just forgot to mention it until now.

Chapter 1.1 | Chapter 1.3

Chapter 1.1 | Chapter 1.3

Caizey held her train ticket in sweaty palms, and watched the train pull up to the station. She couldn’t believe that this was what she was going to do… and her stomach was tied in empty knots. Once she got on that train, there was no turning back. She had already determined that there was no way she could afford a ticket back to Oasis Springs once she got to Glimmerbrook. Turns out trains were expensive. She had already placed a call to the Gallery where she had been working, and quit her job.. and her last hundred bucks was still in her pocket. This just HAD to work out.

The train whistle blew, and, with a heavy sigh, Caizey walked to the train, and pulled herself aboard. Turns out the ticket really was valid.. and she was on her way. She absent-mindedly found a seat on the train, and looked out the window. She wondered what the rest of the day would be like, and whether she would ever see Oasis Springs again. Tears appeared at the edge of her eyes, and she fought them back. Hopefully, this was a good thing, right? She was going to have her very own home. Things just had to be looking up… because there certainly couldn’t be any way for them to still be going down.

Before she knew it, the train had arrived in Glimmerbrook, and she was deposited, mostly alone, on the station platform with her battered luggage. Based on the hand-drawn map on the back of the letter, she should be able to walk to her new home… and, at a loss for what else she could do.. she picked up her bags and started walking.

An exhausting hour later, she walked up to a huge house. If you could call it that. No windows, no wall paint.. But the guy was right, it did have doors. And a roof. Hardly able to believe her eyes, she dropped her bags, and walked up to the front stairs. The mailbox flag caught her attention, and she pulled down the door to the mailbox to find another aged envelope with her name on it. Inside, she found a key. And nothing else. Grasping the key, she walked up to the door, and tried it out. It worked! The door squeaked open, and the smell of dust and cobwebs assailed her senses.

Stifling a sneeze, she walked in, and simply stared. In the darkness inside, she could JUST make out a pile of things in the front room. A bundled-up tent, a box that said it contained an Easel, a set of paints, brushes, and some canvasses, and a tube like you would store posters in. Curious, she drug the  tube out to the front porch where there was more light. Inside, apparently, were the house’s blueprints. Well, at least it was supposed to have windows. Apparently they’d never gotten quite that far.

Sighing in frustration, Caizey drug her bags inside, placed them by her new tent, and pulled out the letter to re-read for the thousandth time. The bit about the portal and the person to contact drew her attention, and, for lack of anything else to do – she didn’t have a flashlight, and the house was too dark to explore without one – she dumped out her backpack on the floor. After re-packing it with the tent and painting supplies, She locked up and pocketed the key.

The path the letter talked about was easy enough to find, and it led on towards the sound of rushing water. Following it, eventually she stepped out on to a huge cliff at the top of a waterfall. The portal the letter mentioned was right there – and – with her heart in her throat, Caizey stepped up to it. Reaching her hand out to it tentatively, she could feel rushing air and a spinning sensation appeared in her head. Resolutely, she took a deep breath and stepped into it.

She nearly ended up on her face with dizziness in a twilight world, and she was immediately sure that those portals were going to take some getting used to. Looking around herself, she righted her clothes, and walked towards the immense building in front of her. Someone was coming out the door as she reached it, and making quick inquiries, she was pointed in the direction of the basement steps to find this L Faba person.

L Faba turned out to be a light-skinned, lilac-haired woman with a welcoming smile. Caizey introduced herself, and L Faba said that she had been expecting her. She went into a long explanation about what was expected of a “Spellcaster”, and Caizey tried her best to listen.

After a few minutes, she broke into L Faba’s monologue.

“I’m confused.” Caizey started. “I’m not a Spellcaster – how am I to do all these things expected of me without being one?!”

“Oh – of course.” L Faba replied, “I forgot the most important part.”

With that, and a quick wave of her wand, L Faba flung some purple bits of light into Caizey’s face.

“Go outside, and find me seven motes. You’ll know them when you see them. Bring them back to me.”

Feeling even more queasy, Caizey climbed the stairs, went outside, and immediately noticed the “motes” that she hadn’t been able to see before. They were little balls of light, and they were scattered around the lawn. Quickly, she went about picking up seven of them, and before long, she headed back down the stairs with the globes of light.

L Faba seemed delighted, took them from her, and asked her to step back.

Caizey stepped back, unsure of what was going on, and watched L Faba begin to wave her wand again. This time, a blue light emanated from it, and Caizey felt herself pulled off the ground into the air.

A tingling sensation travelled the length of her body, and settled in her fingertips as her feet again touched the floor.

“There.” L Faba said, “Now you’re a Spellcaster. You have much to learn, though, and I suggest you get to it. Don’t forget all I told you, and, above all, follow your heart. When you’re ready, come back to me, and I can teach you spells and potion recipes.” And with just that, she abruptly turned and headed upstairs, leaving Caizey standing alone near the huge cauldron, more than a little bemused. Shaking herself to get rid of the lingering tinglies, she followed L Faba up the stairs, and immediately began exploring her surroundings. After finding all the rooms in the main building, she went outside, and found some more portals.

Going through one of them, Caizey found herself in a marketplace of sorts with a beautiful fountain in the middle. It seemed mostly deserted, though, and she wondered where everyone was.

Out of curiosity, she approached the stores, and talked to the ghosts behind the counters. Of course, everything was far too expensive, but it seemed there were wands, brooms to ride, familiars, spell and potion supplies, and even magical tomes to buy. Everything a Spellcaster might need – and then some.

Caizey stepped back from the stores, and thought for a moment. What next? Clearly, she was going to need money. And the best way to do that was painting. She set down her backpack, and pulled out the easel. Quickly, she found out that it wasn’t very hard to set up, and before long, she was hawking her wares like any street artist.

Before long, she had gotten her first commission, and she set to work.

People practically appeared out of nowhere, and watched her curiously as she did her work. It was terribly distracting, but at least she was able to make a little bit of money as the evening progressed. At least – she thought it was evening. It was very hard to tell in the perpetual twilight around here. After a while, she realized she was going to have to head back to the main building and find a bathroom. She quickly packed up and headed back through the portal.

Thankfully, a bathroom was easy enough to find, and Caizey was quick to make use of it.

With everything that had happened, her stomach was growling quite loudly, so she made use of one of the cauldrons placed around the building, and made a huge pot of mac and cheese. Several other Spellcasters came and joined her meal, and before long, she felt so much better.

She explored the bookshelves, and found a history of Spellcasters. Out of curiosity, she sat down and began reading. She didn’t get too far into it, however, before she realized just how tired she was… and she re-shelved the book, and headed outside to find a place to set up her tent.

After trying out another portal, which sent her to a lovely garden house with no one around, she decided this was probably the best place. Exhausted, Caizey set up the tent, struggling a bit with the rods and material for a while before the whole thing came together. Unsure how to feel about the whole day, she climbed inside, rolled out the sleeping bag, and crawled inside. Before long, she was blessedly sound asleep, in a dreamless twilight world of lights and spells.

Chapter 1.1 | Chapter 1.3

House 010 Chapter 7 < | > House 011 Chapter 1

First, we need to see what our new goals are:

House 010 Building Goals:
2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom home worth at least $50k Simoleons
*Include a pool and a designated personal workout area
House 010 Generational Goals:
Max Wellness Skill
Max Gourmet Cooking Skill
Eat "healthy" for the whole generation
Raise the heir to Young Adult age (teen now - 7 days to go)

So, all I have left to do is finish the generation! That means 7 days to go of just watching my sims do their stuff.

We start.. with Karson being a “good” ghost and not breaking the plumbing. For a change.

Zara working out…

While Blaze naps in the hot tub. Again.

Cassidy is trying to max fitness, while Cayden tries to distract her…

And Keon is getting into trouble by cooking on the grill while chatting with Trevor. At least he didn’t burn down the house.

We get the kids all in bed.. and they get autonomously flirty.. so I let them woohoo. Luckily it doesn’t kill Keon, or I would have felt really bad.

Blaze comes home very tense.. and finds the best place to work out his tension.

He then tries out the Wellness skill. Briefly.

Zara is constantly attacking this poor bear. I feel bad for him!

Blaze is in another mood… but at least the rest of the family seems to be behaving.

Cassidy joins Blaze in some relaxation techniques.

Wow, the entire family in one place at one time. I’m impressed.

Trevor using the pool. I swear, there’s always someone in a swimsuit in this house.

Blaze tries working out. Spoiler: he doesn’t do all that well.. but he does get to Fitness level 3.

Well, if you have to go, Keon, at least you’re doing it surrounded by family.

His death hits the family hard, though…. and I’ll definitely miss him, too. He was a great spouse and dad!

Everyone.. except Zara.. is sound asleep.

… but at least she’s doing homework. Good girl.

Winterfest is the day after Keon dies. I feel so bad for the family, since it has to be a miserable holiday. I try to make the best of it, though.

Grand breakfast.. but the kids don’t seem to be all that interested in sitting at the table. Notice all the mopey faces.

Opening presents. Everyone seems to be pretty happy with what they get – except Trevor. You can see the disgust on his face.. but I’m not sure why, he got a Future Cube. I put out most the presents for them to use, but nobody ever does. Typical.

Brynlee stops over.. and I notice that Cassidy can negotiate for a bonus.. which she does successfully.

Since it’s Winterfest, I send the whole family out to volunteer, thinking that I might get Blaze’s empathy trait up.

… What I get is reputation for Cassidy.

Zara finds a way to skip the second volunteering session… and I quickly decide it will be too much trouble to get Blaze’s trait up, so this is the last time they volunteer.

Father Winter stops by.. only to gorge himself on spoiled breakfast. Yum?

I forget what the present was, but at least she got one.

If you look closely, you’ll notice that poor Cassidy is sick. I order her some medicine, and she’s all better in a hurry. I didn’t want anyone else getting all spotty.

Welcome back, Keon!!

The kids all get home from school.

.. And Cayden manages to get an A at the very last possible moment.

Because today, there’s a cake waiting for him.

Vampire? Hm. Not a productive aspiration, there, Cayden.

But he’s definitely the nicest-looking of the kids so far, in my opinion.

Playing with the last Child in the house. He won’t age up before the twins do, so we’ll have to wait to see what he looks like when we’re in the next house.

It’s “Night on the Town”.. so I send the whole family out to eat.

Blaze seems to be particularly full of himself on this evening.

And poor Cayden doesn’t make it through the dinner without passing out.

Dinner arrives.. and everyone gets heart bubbles above their head about the food, so I guess the salad and water was good?

… While Cayden chooses to pick his up and eat it standing. Weird kid.

When we get home, Zara is enraged and very sleepy.. but I’m still worried about her, and try to talk her out of her mood. It doesn’t work, though, and she ends up going to bed ticked off.. but survives.

Trevor loves mommy. So cute.

The next day, I manage to get Cassidy through my last goal for her… (personal goal, not house goal..)

.. And we max fitness. Finally. And with only moments to spare.

… Because it’s the twins’ birthday.

.. Oh… boy. What a set of traits. I’m sorta afraid to find out what this kid gets to do next house!

I don’t forget Zara…

… And here’s her traits.

I quickly pause, save, and start taking the end-of-house pics… so here’s Cassidy’s ending stats:

She really did well in her career!

Six maxed skills! Woohoo!

… And here’s how many books Blaze stole during his school years. LOL. Looks like I’ll be cleaning out his inventory, for sure. I didn’t bother to check how many plates he stole, but it was probably quite a few.

Final house value.

And final funds/family panel. See you Monday for the next house! I can’t wait!!

House 010 Chapter 7 < | > House 011 Chapter 1

Chapter 2 | Chapter 4

Kids Count:
0 Young Adult (moved out)
4 Teenager
0 Child
2 Toddlers
1 Babies

Well, here we go again. And we start with a completely full house. Joy. The very first thing I do is spend some time on upgrading the house, giving them more room. Despite being four floors, we just really don’t have a lot of living space. So I do what I can to fix that.

Also: I move the garden to a more convenient location, because right now – that’s what’s bringing in the most cash. Malakai just never has enough time to write so that will bring in money.

Not a huge amount of changes to the dining room, but that rug really helps the room out.

Here’s where the bulk of the changes went. I expanded the floor significantly, and really did some work on the decor.

Moved some stuff around down here, and gave them a rug and some fluffy pillows to sit on.

And.. with all that.. it was finally time to play.

When I loaded up this save, nearly everyone was absolutely tanked on fun, so I try to get that fixed asap.

Then, the toddlers needed feeding. And Teens needed skill points for their “A” so I can get them out of the house.

Homework and cake. As you do.

Trying to get the toddlers to “Happy Toddler” so I can age them up. Spoiler: It doesn’t happen until their actual birthday, but I do eventually get them there.

Coming home from school with no fun and skills needing to be built = workout dance video.

Yup, it’s Monday, alright. Project day.

I finally do some minor upgrades to the “front lawn”.. now I can SEE them out there.

First project done!

… Last project done! (And bills paid.)

Finally. No more baby to wrestle with.

Aww.. Hi Dana!

Toddler crazy day. Two of them are hungry.. and the third is getting into trouble. Way to go, Carson.

Carson complains about being filthy to younger sister Dana. Well, if you hadn’t been in the toilet for a half hour!!!

Homework party!

Happy birthday, twins. Cora ages up first. And, as I said earlier, it took me all 7 days to get both to happy toddler. grr. I’m losing my touch!

Gloomy. Hrm. Okay.

Pre-disguise.

She’s so cute!!

Go Carson!

Self-Assured.

Pre-disguise. Also: why is it ALWAYS thunderstorming in this save?

OMG. I can’t even with the sunglasses. SO CUTE!

Carson immediately endears himself by cleaning off the table.

Three of the four teens come home with “A”s, so I age up the first twins.

This is what Ariel rolls.

I give her her conservationist career…

And Kick her out.

This is when I realize it’s a good thing I’m kicking the oldest teens out – because the kids don’t have beds assigned yet!

So, without further ado, I hurry up and age up Allie.

.. Had to drag her out of the pool to do it.. but she’s gorgeous.

Bye, Allie! I manage to forget to give her her job.. and have to go do it before I go back to playing. Spoiler: this is not the only time I do that this update.

These alien kids are just so cute. And yes, it’s raining. AGAIN.

It’s that time again, Malakai. Sorry. We have room for more kids now!

Have I mentioned how much I love these money trash cans in this save? I don’t think I’ve used them much before this. But they’re SO helpful.

Wait.. it’s actually sunny? What?! .. And notice the birthday cake? It’s the next day, and Bridget finally got her “A” – so it’s time to send them off.

Brielle goes first. In the middle of the craziness.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. Because she’s child of the ocean.. she gets upset when she eats fish. Which I thought was a cute touch.

Bridget’s turn. And it’s no less hectic. Also: Malakai can FLY!

Not a bad trait mix.

Bye girls! (I then realize I had, once again, forgotten to give one of them their career.. and .. once again, I have to go fix it before continuing.

Well, Malakai, looks like your alien abduction was successful again. Dana is unimpressed.

Malakai looks insanely pleased with himself, considering his youngest is running around buck naked in the same room.

There’s that baby bump!

Bathtime for Dana.

Some family time with the kids.

Carson is the first to find the monkey bars I put where the garden used to be.

Wait.. that bed can break?? Hrm. Interesting.

Toddler is the only one up, and serves herself dinner in the middle of the night. I then put her back to bed.

A bright happy morning. Perfect time to go into labor.

Malakai does not look happy with twins. Me, either. I was hoping for triplets. But twins will work.

LOL. See you next time!

First thing I did this update: spend some of the 20k they had in the bank to upgrade the house a bit, since Tyson and Coty are now teens and we won’t need “kid stuff” in the house for quite a while. Here’s the facelift pics:

Master bedroom

Upstairs loft – for the twins

Another view of the loft

Jaxson’s new downstairs room

Bathroom got a bit of a facelift, too

.. And then I start playing.

Ohhh… Tyson, don’t start this out with a fail please.

“No worries. I got this.”

(He makes it.)

His mind is clearly not on his homework, though. Fetia, however, is all-in on this helping thing.

Jax is doing his homework, while Coty is doing his best to distract him. Not helpful, Koty.

“Sorry…”

Fetia finds the new dartboard. For that matter, I think she’s the only one this update who actually uses it.

Fetia is clearly living her very best life. And LOVING it. (And that’s Jax’s homework that he left behind when he went to school.)

We pay the bills, publish some books.. and –

We’re three star celeb now!

Just another day working from “home”. Had to go study art at the Art Center.

Poor Coty did not come home in a good mood, so Jesse is trying to help. The pouty face is kinda cute, though.

Tyson, no making that face when you’re the one who CHOSE to do that.

“But… working out SUCKS, watcher.”

Still, you did it on your own!

Homework time. The wide angle shot is because this is the first time I noticed that blue couch is semi see thru on the back… kinda cool!

Fetia decides to go swimming. And clearly, the new ladder is useful to someone.

No idea who this chick is. She just wandered into the house, and started playing violin. BADLY. Earplugs, anyone?

We start trying to get the twins, one at a time.. to level 3 in a skill. All the chatting doesn’t help Coty get there, though.

On one side of the room divider…

… on the other. Go twins!

Another food bringing party.

Coty: “Duurrrr… I be sleepy.”

Too sleepy to have a brain, it seems by the face. I relate.

The next morning, Coty is up bright and early and cleaning house.

Jesse makes breakfast….

And gets level 10 cooking. Too bad it doesn’t help us in points.

Time for another potion.

.. Replaced it …

Jesse: “Why do I have to fix this thing??”

Well, one, you broke it. Two.. Watcher can’t stand that beeping/buzzing noise a broken computer makes.

It’s the weekend, so we get Jesse back on the Logic skill train. This is Coty finally getting his Level 3.

… Jaxson tries to calm himself down in a mirror. Luckily, it works.

Tyson’s turn for Logic. Since he’s being awful slow on skilling himself on other things. We finally get him to level 3…

Only to have him immediately start working out.

Coty decides to teach himself Research & Debate. (While in the background, we finally are getting Tyson his level 3 skill.)

Hey, no complaining about the poor quality of the food when you’re the one who chose to make it and force me to worry about a fire. When there was food in the fridge.

Jax: “($*&*%&% this tastes horrible…”

The boys all come home from school…

And I can celebrate with +10 to points!

It’s that time….

Happy birthday, Jax!

+10 for positive traits, -5 for negative. I’m not sure whether to be happy or sad. LOL. And I quickly use his free action to get him a Culinary job. Doubtful he’ll get much in the way of promotions.. but he’ll get a job there anyway, since he rolled for it. Nice mix of traits, though. I approve. Very nice future Torch Holder! (On that note, now we only have 23 more days to play before we can switch Torch Holders!!!!)

… Thanks, Tyson. -5

Tyson. You’re supposed to go to BED after passing out on the floor, not eat dinner. … And Jesse’s been getting packages in the mail from his fans. One of them included a Lump of Clay. Another was a Future cube. Jax finds the Clay almost immediately.

The two teens simultaneously start a phase that they want to play instruments.. so I buy one. Tyson finds it first.

… This is the second time this update I’ve had to stand Jesse in the rain, painting, waiting for a second performer in the Arts District for “home” work. Sigh. It’s a wonder he didn’t get pneumonia!

… Really? Level 3 guitar already? … Why did I make you get level 3 in Logic then?

“Hey, you CHOSE to, Watcher..”

I keep forgetting to mention one of Jesse’s fame perks is the mailed serums. Never noticed the “consult a dr. if this effect lasts more than three hours.” on the flirty serum, though. That’s freaking hilarious.

Yup, it’s harvest fest. And apparently the nekkid gnome likes toys.

Coty finds the guitar.

A grand breakfast for the whole family… except Jax.

.. Who shows up late from his nap, and gets leftovers from the fridge instead. Also: that’s the last pic of the gnome. I sell them after this.

+5 for milestone. Also: I think I’ve been counting the points wrong for these. They’re supposed to only be 5 points, I’ve been counting 10. I will adjust scores when I get there in a second.

+20!!! Woohoo!

House 010 Chapter 6 < | > House 010 Chapter 8

First, we need to see what our new goals are:

House 010 Building Goals:
2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom home worth at least $50k Simoleons (at about 47k)
*Include a pool and a designated personal workout area
House 010 Generational Goals:
Max Wellness Skill
Max Gourmet Cooking Skill
Eat "healthy" for the whole generation
Raise the heir to Young Adult age (teen now)

Time for posting yesterday’s play session, since it was Monday.

I start the week out with trying to max Wellness for our goals.

And… success! One more goal complete.

Now let’s play “watch how long it takes for someone to pick up the sippy cup.”

Oh, yeah, there’s another skill maxed. Woohoo.

This family.. LOVES.. the pool.

Um… thanks for doing your homework.. but please don’t wake your brother?

Sippy cup count: 2. And they’re still there. Cassidy is upgrading the sink.. and Zara is actually cleaning. No idea what Keon is doing.

… Still there. I love Cayden’s face in this one. He really hates messes.

Trying to get Blaze’s skills up so he can get an “A”. For some reason, the game is just not cooperating.

Sure, beat up the bear. Poor thing!

Look closely. Sippy cups STILL there. While Blaze is washing his bowl as if nothing is wrong.

Trevor.. that face.. gosh, he’s so cute. Despite the fact he’s filthy.

Zara says hi to ghostly grandpa.

“What’cha doin mommy??” ..

“Upgrading the toilet so I don’t have to clean it anymore.”

Karson.. really? You had to break it?

See, look, you upset Cayden.

Cassidy keeps autonomously painting. I guess it’s ok, but I don’t really need the money.

Another spar for work. This time Keon doesn’t do as badly, despite the fact he’s now an elder.

… Not a particularly appropriate place to teach him to talk, there, Keon. Right in the puddle.

Blaze comes home enraged, and, worried about him, I have Cassidy get him to work out his frustrations. Literally.

Clearly one run wasn’t enough….

Then I notice that Zara is Mortified, and needs to go for a run too.

… Then it starts snowing. Could things get any weirder?

Blaze zonks out. Thank goodness this isn’t an ISBI.. and Zara is now filthy from her run. Six sims and one bathroom is starting to cause problems.

Instead of taking a bath, both teens decide to take a nap in the hot tub. I leave them, since both are pretty miserable.

I keep forgetting Trevor is wild. Until moments like these. Somehow I don’t think right past the military honors is the best place to go streaking, though.. LOL.

Really, Blaze?  .. Please don’t start a fire…

*cuddles the cute toddler* .. Holy crap he’s really just adorable.

Zara was clearly swimming. This family seems to be in their swimsuits at least half the time.

Blaze survives. His food is “poor” though. Why didn’t he just get something out of the fridge? Who knows.

We’ve been invaded!! (In other words, it’s harvestfest.)

She heads to the bathroom.. only to bladder fail and go for a bath. Yeah. The one bathroom thing is getting old. But I don’t really have room to put it in the house. So they’ll have to suffer.

AWWW… Blaze reads to his little brother.

..Then Zara plays with him. At least the teens are finally not miserable.

The end of fall, it’s cold outside.. and Trevor is nekkid by the pool. Sigh.

Blaze shows off some pictures, and Zara listens intently. They both grew up so cute.

… Someone (Blaze) is in the pool again. Which makes him go to school in his swim trunks.

Now, see, Cayden has the right idea. Eat before school, not swim.

Keon is really such a good Dad. I find him taking care of Trevor all the time.

… This looks familiar. Although it was Blaze on the floor yesterday. And yes, Blaze is AGAIN in a mood that makes me send him out running. Where he pulls yet another muscle and I can’t get him to do anything else for the rest of the day.

However, it’s now a moot point, because he’s at least got his A.

Blaze asking for advice, while mom plays with the clay. If you look closely, you can see Trevor using his potty all by himself like a big boy.

Trick-or-treaters keep showing up for Spooky Day, so Cassidy gives them treats.

Keon seems to like the sauna. Nobody else uses it.

Zara finally decides not to take her anger out on the poor bear, and finally finds the spar dummy.

Blaze plays with Trevor.. and Cassidy just stands around doing nothing.

Blaze then finds the trainer, as well.

Happy Birthday, Trevor!

Self-Assured. That’s not too bad.

.. And just look at that smirk. He’s gonna be a cutie.

I update the toddler’s room to make a room for Zara, as the only girl.. and I add a computer to the mix.

…That Keon immediately appropriates.

..Which reminds me to check the value. Complete!

Karson visits again, and I notice Keon is REALLY skinny in the background. (He’s also playing with the dollhouse … by himself. What..?)

Blaze loses bladder control.. darn that line for the bathroom. *frown* They’ll survive.

And on that note, it’s the end of the week for them. So it’s time for me to wrap up this post. See you next time for the last week in this house!

We have one more week before Becca (our heir poll winner) ages up.. so full steam ahead! (Hopefully we miss the icebergs..)

The first thing I do: move/upgrade the stereo. Now they have a better place to dance. That’s Brittney standing around doing nothing, by the way.

She then goes to check on what dad is cooking. (Which isn’t for her.)

Becca and Branden are upstairs in Branden’s new room chatting.

Alan finally finishes making the cake and putting the candles on.. and we age Branden up JUST in time before he ages himself up.

+10 points for positive traits earned!

We get him the Law job he rolled for, and kick him out.

She was waddling around forever, I was worried she was going to bladder fail. I was so happy when she finally found a bathroom.

Becca decides napping on her bed beats the floor. I agree.

Aww… who broke the bathroom??

… This picture is brought to you by the floating book society. Why do sims do that?! I quickly put the book on the end table – where it stays for days.

Alan’s sister stops over for a change, so we invite her in. I’m going more than a little stir crazy following Alan around with nothing else to do. Eventually, I decide sending him to work (alone) is the best choice. Because making him clean house and dance all day while the kids are at school is boring! (as you see by the next few pics)

Brittney cleaning up. She’s clearly upset about not being picked in the heir poll.

“You mean the poll is final?!”

“Yup. Sorry, sis.”

Salad time. Why Aimee is still hanging around is unknown.

A lonely breakfast while the kids are at school.

Putting away the clean laundry. I wish tossing it in the air to put it away worked for me…

Branden shows up – didn’t take him long to miss the comforts of home!

Too bad we’re busy fixing the bathroom someone broke.

We then chat to Branden who decides calling will get better results than knocking on the door.

Once the girls get home from school/work, we find Brittney in a mood because she’s hot-headed, and she totally takes it out on her poor sister.

Then stomps around the house for a while just to make her point.

Noo…. don’t drink coffee when you’re tired.. go to bed!

Ashley, you have no right to make a frowny face because the dishwasher is broken.. when YOU broke it.

More broken plumbing.

Ashley says “hi” while Alan is trying to clean up her mess.

One teen made it to bed.

The other decided she’d rather sleep in Branden’s bed. Sigh. I wish bed assignments actually worked these days.

Alan takes a minute to chat with his ghostly wife.

… Then decides to have a little fun with her in the shower.

At least she cleans up her mess this time…

Brittney wakes up early to take a bath..

.. and use the bathroom before school.

…Then she and Becca compare pictures on their phones.

Alan… again.. has a lonely meal.

… Some coffee…

… And does the laundry. It’s at this point I decide the next day he’s going to work by himself.

Becca comes home from school and immediately does her homework…. in her winter wear.

She then takes her salad outside to chat with visiting Branden. (Brittney is heading to work in the background)

Then Becca and Alan play a little bit of chess for lack of something else to do.

Thanks, Brittney. First you can’t find your own bed, then you fail on the floor. -5

… Then she decides to sleep in Dad’s bed. Weirdo.

And this post has gotten long enough. Will post the rest of the week tomorrow. Points check:

Life Cycles

I start this entry with a heavy heart. A friend and co-worker, Wiki, has passed away. I just got the news this morning. Unable to get any more sleep after that phone call, I elected to get up early and do some household chores.

Washing laundry makes me wish I had an electric washer and dryer, but there are other needs that come before the “wants” – especially now that I’m pregnant.

The pregnancy, however, has been pretty rough, and I’ve been sick much of the time. Which means more chores to clean up the toilet. Just what I need.

Aleki has been doing really well at work, however, and has been getting better paying commissions, which is really wonderful. He really enjoys the work, even if going out to meet the clients can sometimes be very annoying and time consuming.

I’ve lately been working on my Logic skill, as getting another promotion is out of my reach until I gain another point in it. It’s hard to concentrate with the baby jumping around, though.

My brother, sister-in-law, and father stopped by to bring some nice island food for the fridge. Means that I have less cooking to do, which is good when the smells sometimes make me sick.

I took the opportunity to tell everyone the big news. My dad seemed overly happy to hear about another grandkid, and he promised to tell Mom as soon as he got home. My brother and Meilani, however, didn’t seem surprised, and I caught them sharing a secret smile. Makes me wonder if there will be more kids coming for them soon.

It sure was nice to spend some time with family, though, and it helped alleviate the sadness I felt about Wiki passing on.

Aleki has been so helpful around the house since I’ve been pregnant. I only hope it isn’t a phase .. and he keeps it up after the baby is born.

Aleki has won an award – and a promotion – for his hard work. Luckily, it even came with a bonus.. which means that the house expansion we’d been talking about can become a reality. Between his paychecks and mine we’ve been able to save up quite a bit.

So, I called the local construction company, and had them get busy. They assured me they could get everything we wanted done before the baby was born.

They were as good as their word, and before I knew it I had a REAL kitchen. With a stove and everything! I just needed to buy some stools to sit on at the counter, but that shouldn’t be tough.

We also had a real bedroom, too. With room for the baby’s bassinet. Finally, we also had a bathtub in the bathroom, too, and some upgraded plumbing, since our little mermaid would need baths. Just plopping him or her into the ocean wasn’t going to cut it, I knew.

I wasn’t able to do much in the way of work in these final days before the baby came, so I took some time off and worked on my Logic skill instead. I finally got to the point that I should get a promotion when I go back after the baby is born.

Aleki has been browsing parenting forums, and keeps coming in with all sorts of tips from them. I appreciate his willingness to learn, although I am doubtful all those tips will be useful once we get to the hands-on part of parenting.

Aleki was also the first one to try out the new stove, much to my horror. He claimed he was craving mac and cheese, and I had to tell him cravings aren’t really a “thing” for expectant dads like they are for pregnant moms.

Luckily, nothing bad happened, and we enjoyed a nice, actual “sit down” dinner for the first time. I was still determined to eventually get a real dining table like the one I grew up with, but a room for when the little one grew up was a more pressing need.

Speaking of the baby.. Aleki and I woke up in the night, and we just knew it was time. He, of course, panicked, and trundled me off to the hospital as fast as he could.

The Doctor seemed nice, and the check in procedure was quick, but poor Aleki couldn’t contain his nervousness. He ran around the hospital like a maniac, trying to make sure he didn’t miss anything.

The machine made me nervous, being that it seemed very frightening, but the doctor was extremely calm and seemed competent.

Poor Aleki still hadn’t been able to calm down, as I strained to birth our firstborn.

It seemed like hours, but before long, the pain was over, and our little girl, Kali, was born. We proudly took her home, took care of her needs, and fell back into bed, exhausted.

To celebrate our new kitchen.. and the baby, we invited some island friends over for a Kava party. Everyone was amazed at how much the house had changed since I started with a one room hut, and the baby was cooed over by everyone. I got a gold award for the party, which helped my aspiration out, and everyone seemed to have a great time.

The party, once over, left me with a huge mess, however. Just what I needed. Aleki was more than happy to help clean up, however, and we got things back shipshape before you know it.

Kali has been a great baby, and we’ve both been thrilled to be able to work from home to watch her grow. Every day is something new with her, and just recently she’s even been starting to crawl. I suspect we’ll have a toddler before we know it.

Monday arrives with the bills, but they’re not a problem to be dreaded anymore, so I send off the check, and get back to my baby girl inside the house. Aleki is off meeting with a client, but nap-time gives me the moments I needed to check the fish traps, take some pictures of some turtles for work, and have time to do some chores, too. Life couldn’t be better for now.. even though I still miss Wiki!

(A/N: Sorry it’s been so long since I posted anything for these guys! Now that I’m back to playing, it shouldn’t be so long between posts anymore.)
