Okay, so after spending most the day working on it, I thought I would have it completed by bedtime, but it turns out I didn’t quite have enough time – simply because I got overzealous and started adding some improvements to the spreadsheet. I will say, the BLOG part of the update is complete. I think. I’ve proofread it several times, but please, if you see that I’ve made a mistake, please let me know. Adding in the two generations did require a good bit of change to the storyline, but.. well, let’s just say, I think it was worth it.
As for the spreadsheet… I should have it done tomorrow. I need to do some testing to make 100% sure my formulas are working since I updated and moved everything around, but it SHOULD work as-is. My advice, however, wait until it’s fully cleared to download a new copy of the spreadsheet. I will post when this is the case. I had some frustrating errors with formulas at the end of the night, and quite simply didn’t have the brain power to suss out why it wasn’t working. Meanwhile, if you are at a point you need to go to one of the new generations (Gen 14 and Gen 25, respectively in a now 39 gen challenge) .. use the blog rules for now. Love to all of you, and will let you know when the spreadsheet is ready again!

I have taken a peek at this challenge and it sounds like so much fun! Once I completely read over the rules, I’d like to give it a try!
I’m so glad you like it!! It’s sort of my pet project. Out of all my challenges, it’s my favorite… and also the hardest to keep updated and maintained. 🙂 It still always astounds me when people like it because it’s such a mammoth challenge! (No pun intended)
I love long term challenges! The one I created isn’t nearly as in depth as yours but it is over 60 generations. And I haven’t even updated it since Cottage Living (I’m working on it lol).
I downloaded your blank save file and already created my founders! And saved a bunch of stuff from your gallery! I love that you include having a family museum. I thought about doing something similar for my challenge but thought it couldn’t be passed down from generation to generation so I just chose to do a family cemetery on a generic lot. I never thought to move everyone in the household out and then split the household again to continue passing it down!
OOh.. I love epic challenges! What’s yours about? Also: I will be updating my old Timeline builds in the next few weeks using the new packs we’ve gotten – and I will update the pages with the new links as soon as they’re uploaded. 🙂 (Also will be updating the blank save file to include the new pack worlds)
Mine is kind of like Pinstar’s and the Build Newcrest challenge but it goes in order of when packs were released! Also kind of like Drifter because you start on a new lot with §0 every generation. And no selling into your inventory and no odd jobs unless they’re assigned a part time job and it’s their day off. All traits are randomized. Careers have to be maxed out and aspirations completed. There’s specific goals for each gen. Basically I wanted it to be an extreme challenge (thus it’s name) lol it’s still a work in progress as the furthest I’ve gotten so far is generation 43. And I tend to update little things here and there. In case you want to check it out 🙂

Oh, heck, I love that. Drifter is one of my favorite challenges. My Apartment Switch challenge is based on drifter, and meant to be played right after or right before Drifter. Someday I wanna finish my drifter .. I got to gen 14? 15? I think.
Me too! I got as far as 11 or 12 before I had to take a break. I was getting stressed at not being able to control everyone 🤣
I have a fondness for difficult challenges, like Drifter and ISBI (I’m Surrounded By Idiots) where you can’t control everything – simply because it’s so dang funny to watch the sims flounder when you can’t control them.
The challenge looks very nice! Whenever I get around to adding a sims links section (in the plans, but there’s so many things that need doing first) I’ll make sure I add it.
Well thank you! I love making my gameplay as hard as possible lol and although I love control, I also love giving my sims full control and see what they choose!
