Current Game #26 – SimCity – Wrap-up

This was a fun game to re-visit. Well, both of them were. More-so Societies. That one will be getting some more off screen play time from me in the near future. Given the choice between SimCity and Cities: Skylines, I would play Cities Skylines every time. But if you’re looking for a simpler simulation, SimCity is definitely it. I didn’t do any play of the DLC content on stream, but that really does change the entire game, and is fun to mess with. On the topic of Societies, though… that really is a fun game. I managed to get it digitally on Origin the weekend before the stream, and couldn’t resist. It’s a super fun building game that really does change everything (even the UI and the music) when you build a city to a different core value or theme. I once did a spooky city with just the spooky items, and it got all foggy and creepy looking. Was lots of fun. I had equally as much fun getting the trophy I got on my Tuesday playthrough, and I look forward to trying to get some more. It may be an old game, but it was easy to install, and not too hard to pick up the idea of the game – highly recommend. Both days are now uploaded to youtube, and are linked below.

100DayCreativity – Day 9 Sim

This sim was made to go with the Day 9 house (which was based on both the Day 9 prompt and the #bns144 (Build and Share 144 – A Winter Festival Miracle) (below). However, it took me a long time to get around to making the sim. Well, she’s there now!

Welcome to Lighthouse Cove B&B

This build was originally designed for a B&B challenge, but the more I worked with it, the more I realized it was NOT going to come in under the prescribed budget, so I abandoned the build. Later, while looking for channel point redemptions, I decided to finish the build and let people redeem points to get a themed room made just for them. Once it’s full, I’ll upload it to the gallery. (Although the shell is actually on the gallery, I believe.)

Update!

After a break, I am back at work on the website. I currently have all but a couple pages linked into the menu and the new site. In other words, I’m in what I would consider the “home stretch”. Below is the current to-do list (with completed things removed)… and it looks SO much better […]

Tiny Victorian Home

This is the first lot I built for my save file. The title pretty much covers it. It’s Tiny, and it’s Victorian. Download here. It’s designed for the Crick Cabana lot in Willow Creek.

Nostalgic Game #26 – Brave Fencer Musashi – Wrap-up

I think the fact that I only made it through a few hours of the game, and then switch to Medieval Dynasty speaks volumes about this game. As much as it holds a place in my heart, it’s also a game that requires a lot of luck, coordination, and skill. … Which adds up to a super frustrating combination. It was definitely fun to revisit it, but will I ever finish the game? … Nope. I couldn’t even get past the first few chapters of the game, never mind getting to end game. Wondering what next week’s game is? Check the section for the “current games”. Hopefully that one will be more fun. *wink*

Current Game #26 – SimCity

SimCity has been a “thing” for a very long time. Pretty sure I got pulled in on the second game – SimCity 2000. And that was all she wrote. I’ve been hooked on this genre ever since. Even though the newest iteration wasn’t received all that positively, and was buggy as all heck on release, I still loved it. Being that the latest SimCity game was 2013, this borders on being “nostalgic”, but somehow still ended up being a “current” game, simply because it’s the latest game. This is also the one I’ll be playing on stream, because, somehow, it’s still my favorite of the series. (Although SimCity 4 is a close second.)

Progress…

The Challenge Rules section is now complete. I still have work to do, but that’s the hardest things out of the way. If you’ve been looking at the actual to-do list, not a huge amount of it is crossed off yet, which is discouraging, but, in reality a good portion of the actual work has […]

Master Simmer Challenge Updated (Finally)

Just finished updating the Master Simmer Challenge for all new content. (Also: added it to the links in the Challenge Rules section.) During this update, I removed the ability to play via the cheat sheet, but the cheat sheet is not gone forever – it will be published on the upcoming Sims Tools page. If […]

I am a 47 year old American wife, mother, and gamer. I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life, and enjoy it for the changing seasons. My favorite movie is Labyrinth, my favorite game is Sims 4, and I have tattoos related to both. My favorite colors are purple, red, and green. When I’m not playing games (which is rare) I also enjoy reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, and have had many types of pets over the years. Currently, I have a dog named Cassie who is a Jack Russel / Beagle mix and five young fancy rats (all of whom are rescues). I run this Sims 4 Blog where I post screenshots and stories about the different challenges I play. Also here are the Sims 4 challenges I've written, and a place for me to store all the Sims 4 knowledge I've gotten over the years. I am also a Sims 4/variety streamer on Twitch for my mental health, fun, and to meet new people. I am also in the EA Creator Network and an Ubisoft Partner, which is a dream come true! I look forward to meeting you!
