Disclaimer: I do NOT support Blizzard anymore, and will not be doing so until they change their leadership. This are games that I bought long before the whole ... hullabaloo ... started, so there is no current financial (or sentimental) support involved.
All that being said, this will be the first time I’ve actually played a Blizzard game since all the controversy started, and it feel incredibly weird. However, if I doing a retrospective on my gaming career, I must include Blizzard games…. I have lost months of my life to their games, including the first Starcraft. I never got into the second one, but I figure I might as well give it a go for a while as an honorable mention on Tuesday since I don’t plan to play SimTower on both days.
StarCraft came out in 1998, and – despite being a subject matter I wasn’t all that interested in – it still drew me in for hours and hours of gameplay. I was very busy with other games when StarCraft II came out (namely, World of Warcraft)… and I wasn’t into the fact that it seemed that you were going to have to buy three games just to get the whole game. Eventually, I did buy it in a sale… and I think I’ve put a few hours into it. Maybe. Which is why I figure putting a few hours into it on stream might be fun. (Before going back to my boycott on the developer). So, StarCraft II campaign is what I’ll be playing. (I never played multiplayer StarCraft.)
In all honesty, it’s been so very long since I played StarCraft, I may or may not be getting some of the game play confused with Alpha Centauri (which I also played quite a lot back then, but is not on my list). So.. this Tuesday should be interesting!
(Will be posted after the final “play” day for this game.)
